Moro 2027: No House of Reps Ticket, No Vote. Dr. Ajani Endorsed No Aspirant - Moro APC Will Not Accept Injustice and Inequity
Disclose the details of your meeting in Ajani's residence
Our attention has been drawn to a publication circulating regarding the familiarisation visit of two House of Representatives aspirants for the Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency on the platform of the APC following the just concluded primaries.
It is important to set the record straight.
After several failed attempts by Hon. Muhammad Mamman, an aspirant from Edu Local Government Area, to meet Dr. Ajani Abiola Joshua, winner of the APC primary election for the Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency seat, it must be clarified that Dr. Ajani is not avoiding anyone. He has simply been occupied with his personal and business engagements.
Prior to this, another aspirant from Edu Local Government, Hon. Bello Taoheed Abubakar "Carwash", had called to request a visit to Dr. Ajani’s residence alongside Hon. Muhammad Mamman. Fortunately, Dr. Ajani was at home and graciously granted their request.
Dr. Ajani received them as a friend and political associate. Some stakeholders from Moro Local Government were also present at his residence during the visit.
During the meeting, they stated that the purpose of their visit was to introduce Hon. Muhammad Mamman to Dr. Ajani and to solicit his support for the aspirant who scored 157 votes as against the moro aspirant who won with 20,418 in the primary election
One of the aspirants was immediately cautioned not to refer to any individual as "the candidate" because the people of Moro will not accept the injustice and daylight robbery currently being orchestrated within the constituency
It is on record that Edu Local Government Area will have held the seat for 16 years by 2027. Moro Local Government has never produced a representative for either of the National Assembly seats. On what basis, then, is support being sought for what clearly does not belong to them?
One of the stakeholders present remarked:
_"If you had won with the number of votes you claimed in the primary, there would be no need for a familiarisation visit to any aspirant. You would simply leverage the party leadership to reconcile with your co-aspirants."_
This struggle is not about Dr. Ajani Abiola Joshua as an individual. It is about the interest of Moro Local Government Area in having representation at the National Assembly. Our candidate in moro won with wide margin. We can not accept this impunity, unfairness, and injustice against our local government.
We are not begging for what is ours. We fought hard and earned the victory in the primary election.
We therefore maintain our stand: The Dr. Ajani Mandate must be respected. The Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency seat is not anyone’s birthright.
Signed:
