🚨 BRUTALITY IN DELTA: Officers Paraded for Alleged Extrajudicial Killing

— The Delta State Police Command has officially paraded several officers following the tragic extrajudicial killing of 28-year-old musician, Mene Ogidi. The incident, which occurred on April 26, 2026, in the Sapele Park area of Effurun, has sparked massive outrage and protests across Warri.
The Incident
Reports indicate that Mene was apprehended at a motor park while allegedly attempting to waybill a parcel. Viral social media footage showed the victim handcuffed and pleading for mercy before being fatally shot.
Official Response
Police Arrests: ASP Nuhu Usman, the team leader, has been arrested for violating Force Order 237 and standard operating procedures.
Command Statement:
Delta PPRO, Bright Edafe, described the act as "unexplainable," even suggesting "spirituality" as the only possible reason for such an irrational act by an officer.
IGP Orders: The Inspector General of Police has ordered the immediate transfer of the involved officers to Abuja for prosecution and summary dismissal.
Public Outcry
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has strongly condemned the killing, demanding that all officers who aided or abetted the act be held jointly liable. Protests continue in Delta as the family and residents demand full justice for the slain artiste.
