So having just screened at the wonderful Ake and Afriff festivals last week, where it had a wonderful reception from the audiences, Salt has come to the end of its festival run, and we would like to make it available (finally!) for you to watch it online. "Deviant" tells the story of Izhan, a talented thief, who must perform a number of mysterious tasks for a stranger in return for information about her biological parents.

Umar Turaki (writer, director, producer, and creator) writes:
“This is a project that has been a long time in the making. I’ve slaved over these scripts for the better part of two years. I wanted to create an exciting story full of mystery, suspense, and drama about a seriously conflicted character who must make some very difficult decisions in order to discover who she really is. But I didn’t just want it to be exciting, I also wanted the story to have a lot of depth to it, I wanted it to be a very human story. This is going to be an entertaining and moving ride for the patient viewer interested in complex and engaging cinema. I’m excited to be partnering with Wale and Malvina on this. They love their characters and really look forward to sinking their teeth deeper into them. We also have a very good team working with us on this, some talented people here in Jos and in Lagos, and everybody is excited about what we have on our hands. The DP and co-producer, Kagho Crowther Idhebor, is a friend who has helped to craft a beautiful look for this story, we started talking and exchanging ideas about this much earlier in the year. We looked at photos, films, specific shots, anything that could help us have a more definite sense of what we wanted to achieve visually. Being a DP can sometimes connote this sense that one is only technical, but that is far from the truth. Kagho is a very sensitive collaborator who cares about every level of the story and how it’s executed. Everything he does is in service to the story. It is a pleasure to have him in my corner of the ring.”
