I once lived in a community.
In the community, there was a very wealthy man. Let's call him Chief (Dr.) Adebayo Adegeye.
He sat atop LaFash Nig Ltd. (let's also call his company that). He had other companies. But LaFash was one of the companies most people loved to work in.
Many young people sought to see him but couldn't. Parents also did on behalf of their graduates children but very difficultto get his attention.
He moves from his closely guarded mansion into his air-conditioned, tinted car, straight into his palatial office everyday day except Sundays.
He is hardly seen. Maybe twice or thrice a year we get to see his face during community organised events. That is if he had not travelled abroad.
Once a year he opened the opportunity for graduates to get employed into his companies.
Truth is, people admired him. He had a rag-to-riches life story.
His companies were rated as best places to work.
There was a particular year, there were 20 openings available in his companies. Over 10, 000 graduates applied.
Every year, the job openings into his company become highly competitive.
So many of the graduates don't get to get in.
But there was a particular young man named Julius. He got to know about this man.
While in 300 level in the university, he started thinking of working in LaFash Nig. Ltd.
As an undergraduate of Mass Communication, he was hungry for knowledge, and more knowledge.
He got himself signed up on LinkedIn. He observed the way people post on LinkedIn. He observed how others structured their profiles and bios. He took note of how to reach out to people on LinkedIn.
He also started posting. He created content on how companies can use mass media, especially new media to boost their bottom lines.
He was consistent at this. He researches and publishes.
During the mandatory 1 year NYSC he followed Mr Adebayo on all his social media platforms.
He comments on his posts and write ups. He shares his posts.
He became VISIBLE to Chief (Dr.) Adebayo Adegeye.
One day, Chief Adegeye reached out to Julius. He sent him a DM on LinkedIn,
"I have observed what you've been doing on LinkedIn. I like your posts. Once in awhile I get to read some of them. I appreciate the depth of your knowledge and intelligence.
"I also checked up your blog and your Facebook. I love what you're doing on Quora too.
"Though it right now my company is not recruiting, however, I will love you to work with us. Think about it and let me know what you think.
"Cheers."
Julius got Chief Adegeye's attention. Not just that, he got a job in LaFash without applying.

Recently I have been sharing with you WHY GRADUATES DON'T GET JOBS.
If you have observed, I have also been mentioning (alongside) which is coming up 25th October 2021.
As soon as I announced FIT FOR WORK on Facebook, Coach Odeyemi Olayiwole reached out to me privately and told me he wants to sponsor 4 participants for the Fit for Work.
Because he decided to sponsor 4 participants, I decided also to have 4 people scholarships to match his support.
You can also join us to sponsor and support participants (fresh graduates and undergraduates) around you to participate in this Fit for Work.
How many will you like to sponsor?
