What is pollination?
What are pollinators?

*Bees* are nature's premier pollinators, facilitating the reproduction of over (1/3) of the world's food crops and 85% of flowering plants. As they forage for nectar, pollen clings to their hairy bodies and is transferred between flowers, directly boosting agricultural yields and supporting global biodiversity.

*Pollen* is a fine, powdery substance produced by the male parts of seed-bearing plants to transfer male genetic material to the female parts of other flowers. This process, called pollination, allows plants to fertilize and reproduce.

*How It Works*

• *Production* : In flowering plants (angios***ms), pollen is produced by the anthers at the end of the stamens. In cone-bearing plants (gymnos***ms), it is formed in male cones.

• *Transportation* : Pollen is carried from flower to flower or cone to cone by the wind, water, insects (such as bees), or birds.

• *Fertilization* : When pollen lands on a compatible female landing site (stigma), it germinates and creates a pollen tube, allowing the s***m to fertilize the egg and develop seeds.

Best tomato management at flowering stage

1. *Water consistently:* Keep the soil evenly moist. Avoid overwatering or letting plants wilt, as this can cause flower drop.

2. *Nutrition* : Reduce excessive nitrogen. Apply a fertilizer higher in phosphorus and potassium to support flowering and fruit set.

3. *Calcium* : Ensure an adequate calcium supply to reduce the risk of blossom-end rot later.

4. *Prune and stake:* Remove unnecessary suckers (for indeterminate varieties) and tie plants securely to improve airflow and light pe*******on.
