Rabiu Abdulsamad, a Nigerian businessman, has advanced to become Africa's fourth richest person with a net worth of $11.3 billion, surpassing Naguib Sawiris.

This milestone also positions Abdulsamad as the world's 302nd wealthiest person, based on Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index.

His financial growth was powered by significant successes in his company, BUA Foods Plc, which recorded a 91% increase in profit after tax during the fiscal year.

BUA has engaged in strategic partnerships and infrastructure advancements in various sectors, enhancing operational capacity and market reach.

The Dangote Oil Refinery is now operating at its fully installed capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, marking a historic achievement for single-train refineries worldwide.

This milestone follows successful maintenance and optimization efforts on the Crude Distillation Unit and Motor Spirit production block by the refinery's team.

A comprehensive 72-hour performance validation, conducted with UOP, the refinery's licensor, will evaluate operational standards and efficiency.

The refinery aims to redefine Nigeria’s energy landscape by eliminating dependency on imports and positioning the nation as a net exporter of petroleum products.
