CHEERING NEWS: Nasarawa State University, ranks 36th in Sub-Saharan Africa and 8th in Nigeria

According to the latest SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA UNIVERSITY RANKINGS 2024, released on 27th November, 2024, by The Times Higher Education (the most cited and trusted global university ranking organisation),

1. Nasarawa State University, Keffi, is NUMBER 36 in SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA.

2. Only seven (7) Nigerian universities were ahead of NSUK on the ranking table. This, therefore, positions NSUK as number 8 in Nigeria. This is a cheering news!

3. The 7 Nigerian universities ahead of NSUK on the list and their corresponding positions in Sub-Saharan Africa are as follows: American University of Nigeria, Yola (12), ABU, Zaria (21), Covenant Unìversity (26), Landmark University (27), Lagos State University (30), Universuty of Ibadan (31) and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (32). NSUK follows at 36th position in Sub-Saharan Africa.

4. Among the top 8 Nigerian universities that appear on the list, NSUK is the 2nd of only two state universities. This positions NSUK as the 2nd best state university in Nigeria after Lagos State University.

It appears our modest efforts or contributions in spite of systemic challenges are receiving global recognition.

*LIFT OF BAN: 2024 SUG GENERAL ELECTION TO PROCEED*

Fellow students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi,

We are thrilled to announce that the ban on the 2024 Students Union Government (SUG) General Election has been lifted!

After thorough consultations and preparations, the Independent Electoral Committee (IELCOM) is pleased to declare that the election will proceed as scheduled.

This election is a significant milestone in our democratic journey, and we urge all eligible students to participate actively. Your vote is your voice, and together, we can shape the future of our union.

Let us come together to ensure a peaceful, free, fair, and credible election. The (IELCOM)is committed to upholding the integrity of the electoral process.
