Harnessing Youth Potential for Socioeconomic Development in Kogi State

Dear Your Excellency,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I write to you with a deep sense of purpose and urgency, concerning an issue that is of paramount importance to the future of Kogi State—the harnessing of our youth's potential for the socioeconomic development of our dear state.
Kogi State, with its rich cultural heritage and strategic geographical location, stands as a beacon of potential within Nigeria. However, the true wealth of our state lies not only in its natural resources but in the vibrant and dynamic youth population that constitutes a significant portion of our demographic. These young men and women are the driving force that can propel Kogi State into a new era of economic prosperity and social advancement if their potential is effectively harnessed.

The Youth as Catalysts for Development
Our youth are energetic, innovative, and resilient. They are the future entrepreneurs, educators, leaders, and professionals who will shape the trajectory of Kogi State. However, to realize this potential, there is a need for deliberate and strategic investment in their education, skills development, and employment opportunities. This is not only an investment in the future of our youth but also a critical investment in the future of Kogi State.

Key Areas of Focus
1. Education and Skills Development:
• Enhancing Vocational Training: Establishing and strengthening vocational training centres across the state to equip our youth with practical skills that are in demand in today’s job market.
• Promoting STEM Education: Encouraging the study of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, which are crucial for the development of a modern economy.
• Supporting Entrepreneurship: Providing mentorship, training, and financial support for young entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas that can create jobs and stimulate the local economy.

2. Youth Employment Initiatives:
• Creating Job Opportunities: Partnering with private sector companies and industries to create employment opportunities for young people, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and information technology.
• Youth Empowerment Programs: Expanding existing programs and initiating new ones aimed at empowering youth with the necessary tools to become self-reliant and economically productive.
• Internship and Apprenticeship Schemes: Collaborating with businesses and industries to offer internship and apprenticeship programs that provide hands-on experience and prepare our youth for the workforce.

3. Promoting Innovation and Technology:
• Tech Hubs and Innovation Centres: Establishing tech hubs and innovation centres where young people can collaborate, innovate, and develop solutions to local challenges using technology.
• Digital Literacy: Ensuring that our youth are equipped with digital skills that are essential in the modern economy, thereby increasing their employability and capacity for innovation.

4. Youth Participation in Governance:
• Inclusive Governance: Encouraging youth participation in decision-making processes at all levels of government, ensuring that their voices and perspectives are represented.
• Youth Leadership Development: Implementing programs that focus on developing leadership skills among the youth, preparing them to take on leadership roles in their communities and beyond.

Conclusion
Your Excellency, the youth of Kogi State are a formidable force that, if properly nurtured and guided, can transform the socioeconomic landscape of our state. I urge you to consider the suggestions outlined above and to prioritize youth development as a central pillar of your administration's agenda.
By investing in our youth, we are not only securing the future of Kogi State but also ensuring that our state takes its rightful place as a leader in Nigeria's socio-economic development. I am confident that under your leadership, Kogi State will continue to make strides toward a brighter, more prosperous future for all its citizens.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I am available and willing to contribute in any way possible to the realization of this vision.

Yours sincerely,
Abubakar Mohammed, PhD

BUSINESS PROPOSAL
Introduction
Hamak Integrated Farms Limited (HIFL) is a company that started its operation in 2016 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission with Head Office in Kwanka, Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Abubakar Mohammed (Ph.D.) is the founder of the company which specializes in Integrated Farming with years of experience working and living in the UK and India. He is highly experienced in the Fattening of animals (Cattle, Sheep and Goats).
We are inviting interested parties to invest in our business. We are trusted in the business because we use scientific and modern method to breed and fattens our animals. It is with confidence to say that we are skilled in the use of modern technological means of caring and fattening to achieve a healthy and marketable results.
Based on the know-how and the experiences gained over the years; and advances in research and development, your investment is sure in competent and reliable hand.

Business Model
Invest a total of 172, 500 naira only
How?
A Cow of 150, 000 will be purchased
22, 500 will be used for feeding/veterinary/labor for three (3) months
We project that at the end of the fattening period (90-120 days), the cow will be sold for between 200, 000 and 210, 000 naira. Assume we take the lower end of 200, 000.
That is:
Investment = 175, 200
Selling price = 200, 000
Profit = 24, 800
30% of 24, 800 = 7, 440
70% of 24, 800 = 17, 360
The company takes 30% of the profit while the investor takes the 70%.
So, from this hypothetical situation at the end of the fattening period the investor will get his investment back (175, 200) and a profit of (17, 360). He may decide to collect his profit and roll over the investment for another programme.

From my Gambian friend owner of Djallow farms.....
AlhamdulillAh. Another Eid has come and gone. Eid Mubarak to everybody. The best solution to have a cheap ram next year In Sha Allah (God willing) is to rear one. I hope we will chose to dirty our hands and rear our own rams rather than expect the one who chose to dirty his hands to sell it to us cheap. Remember this year rainy season is very poor so far and ram price is highly influence by cost of feeding. Just a suggestion. Thanks to all those who patronized me and all those who intended to patronize me and found out that I ran out of
rams. Book early next year In Sha Allah.
