The Power of Relationships
Over the past few years in my entrepreneurship journey, there is one significant factor that has stood out as a lesson for me and has given the highest Return On Investment ( ROI )
Build a business and gaining access to platforms and people does not come rare.
People give access to other people that they know, like and trust.
Can you imagine yourself being endorsed by Mike Filsame of Groove Digital, Russell Brunson of Clickfunnels, Richard Branson of Virgin Group or Daymond John of Shark Tank.
What is the ripple effect it will have on your brand and personality?
Take a cue from Amanda Goman's experience during Joe Biden's inauguration day. Her Instagram followers grow into millions and she made exponentially sales because if one recommendation and one platform access.
But this cannot come to play if you do not get access to any of them and getting access will always come with a price. And you have to be willing and able to pay the price.
How do you gain access to such platforms and people?
You build relationships with them directly or through connectors.
We all know 4 persons that knows another 4 person that knows another 4 and when we all come together we all will have access to a larger number of persons we never met beforehand.
Business also runs on these ideology too.
When you build relationships with your prospects, leads and clients, you will have access to more people, more opportunities and more clients.
Relationships comes with sacrifice and sacrifice is painful but it's worth the price when it starts to pay for itself.
But if all you go for is the sale, then you cannot build any sustainable business.
Brands like ActiveCampaign and Digital Marketer, Groove Digital and Chatmatic, FTC Guardian, 22 Apps, Youzhin and more are utilizing this to grow their businesses.
How can you tap into this ideology as a small business owner?
There are two major ways of achieving this.
1. Offer value upfront
Many smart business owners understand that when you give value upfront, you are sowing a seed that will germinate and produce fruit in the near future.
This is also where many people fail at it because we live in a fast food world where you want either done for you (DFY) or fast results and negate the process.
You cannot plant an apple tree and a corn and expect the same results within the same time frame.
And trust takes time and alot of outpour from you before it will begin to trace it steps back to you.
Every relationship is built on knowledge and trust factor.
When you offer value upfront, not everyone who got value from you will return it directly but somehow they may recommend your content to others.
2. Do Joint Venture Partnership
When you are bringing value to the table and offer people an opportunity to partner with you to reach your goal, you will definitely get there faster.
This is where the affiliate marketing business model was coined from.
As an affiliate, you on a joint venture with the brand and product owner that you are promoting. For each sale you make, you earn a commission while your partner keeps his own cut from the deal.
And most successful business owners in the world has built their businesses using this model.
You give up a certain percentage of your profit for others to help you promote your business.
Bill Gate of Microsoft is a typical example. Microsoft does not build or sell computers but they have partnered with Hawllet Parkard, Dell and other brands to sell their solution.
