Recently we've taken our time to discuss goal setting and how to set achievable GOALS. In our previous post we talked about being specific with goal setting and today we will be talking about the letter "M"

Are your goals MEASURABLE?

Before a goal can be achieved such a goal must at first be measurable. Measurable in the sense that you can track the progress of such a goal.

Let's assume one of your goals this year is to learn affiliate marketing, this goal becomes measurable when you're able to track the progress. How do you track your progress?

✔️What steps have you taken?
✔️Have you registered for an affiliate marketing course?
✔️Have you bought the needed materials?
✔️Do you have a mentor that will take you through the process?
This is what we call the measurability of goal setting.

ARE YOUR GOALS SMART?

Sometimes last year, during a discussion with my sister who happens to be an AGRONOMIST she asked about the job I intend to do when I'm done with school.

Without much thinking, I told her I am open to any role.😄😄My reply pi**ed her off and out of anger, she screamed "can't you be specific with the position or role you want"

Wow, I never thought of that. Since then I had a change of mind and this has helped me a lot.

Last week we talked about goal setting and we mentioned that for a set goal(s) to be achieved, such goal(s) must be SMART.

The problem some of us have with achieving our goals is not being specific with want we want.

Let's say one of your goals this year is to enroll in at least one online soft training.

For the goal to be achievable you need to delimit it by asking yourself which type of soft training do you intend to enroll for and when do you intend to enroll for it?
With this, you would have cleared knowledge of what you want and when you want it.

Don't just set goals rather be SPECIFIC with every set goal.

HOW CONFIDENCE AND SKILLS GOT ME MY FIRST JOB.

I relocated to Lagos in search of a Greener pasture three months after my service year.

Weeks before my relocation I had sent my curriculum vitae to some organization. As luck would find me, one of the organizations scheduled me for an interview.

Although it was the role of a Chartered Accountant and I was yet to be chartered I was determined to give in my best. I made extensive research about the organization and the role I applied for.

Some minutes after my arrival at the venue I was called in for my interview. I stepped in with confidence and enthusiasm, not just that, all questions directed at me were also answered with confidence.

Long story cut short, I got the job immediately. The head of Human Resources Management of the organization, after handing over my offer letter, jokingly asked if I had been attending series of interviews. He also mentioned that although the role is for a chartered accountant, my skills and confidence are highly commendable.

Dear Jobseeker, your certificate alone is not enough to earn you that desired Job, the job search is competitive therefore, in other to have an upper hand in the competitive labor market you need to acquire the skills needed in your profession.

Goal setting is one of the easiest thing humans do, the problem however comes when it is due time to achieve the goals.

While many ends up not achieving any of their set goals, some on the other hand achieve 20%.
