Let me tell you about Grace.

Grace had wanted to move abroad for as long as she could remember. Not because she hated where she was. But because something in her always knew there was a bigger life waiting somewhere she had not been yet. A place where her skills would be recognized, her effort would be rewarded, and her family would have more options than the ones currently available to them.

So she did what most people do when that feeling gets strong enough to act on. She started applying for jobs.

She applied to roles in the UK. She applied to positions in Canada. She sent her CV to companies she found on job boards, through WhatsApp groups, through friends of friends who claimed to know people. She wrote cover letters. She followed up. She waited.

And she heard almost nothing back.

For nearly a year, Grace sat with that silence. The kind of silence that starts to feel personal after a while. The kind that whispers: maybe this is not for you. Maybe you are not qualified enough, experienced enough, connected enough. Maybe the people who make it abroad are just built differently from you.
