Sometimes, the challenges in our lives, become an avenue for fulfilling God's purpose.
Nased in the UK, Sonya Okubule is an IT Professional on a normal day. The question is why is an IT professional showcasing food on social media?
The answer to that question will change how you view life from today.
Sonya was born into a family of Diabetics. She lost her mom and other family members to Type 2 Diabetes (T2D).
When she herself got pregnant for the first time, she was diagnosed with diabetes. Imagine battling with diabetes while pregnant.
The issue with T2D is that you will be on lifelong medication to manage it.
But Sonya did not want that.
Instead of caving in to what life threw at her, she decided to fight. While on medication, she did her own research and started trying different options until she found something that worked—diets.
It took a while, but she succeeded in fighting her T2D into remission and discontinued her medications.
But a few years later, it came back and she fought it again. This time, without medications and she won again.
That experience opened a door for her.
She took my visibility challenge and the rest is history.
Not only did she start getting speaking invitations to share her story in the UK, she also has Sonya's kitched where she prepares healthy meals for people with T2D.
She does all these while still working as an IT professional.
