Dear Business Owner,

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is mixing personal transactions with business transactions.

When everything runs through one account, you lose financial visibility, your reports become inaccurate, and your cash flow can suffer.

Separate your personal account from your business account. Then, where necessary, create dedicated accounts for inflows, expenses, payroll, savings and investments.

When your money is properly structured, your business becomes easier to understand, manage and grow.

Donโ€™t just make money. Manage it properly.

DM Sporos Consult for help putting your business finances in order.

Rev 360 is not just another tax platform. It is a major shift in how tax administration will work.

The goal is simple: make tax compliance more digital, convenient and end to end.

From registration and filing to payments, monitoring and even handling tax disputes, more of your tax activities can now be managed digitally without constantly visiting a tax office.

But here is the important part for business owners:

Digital tax administration does not reduce your compliance responsibilities. It makes your compliance more visible.

Your records, filings, payments and tax history now need to align properly.

This is why businesses need to start getting their tax affairs in order, not when there is a problem, but before the problem comes.

Is your business ready for Rev 360?

DM Sporos Consult if you need help reviewing your tax compliance and getting your business ready.

10/08/2026

Dear Business Owner,

If your business is already on Rev360, don't just register and forget about it.

You need regular tax health checks to ensure that what you are filing is consistent across your business.

Here are 3 areas you should be checking regularly:

1. VAT Compliance
Being exempt or having no VAT to pay does not automatically mean you have nothing to file.

Filing is different from paying.

2. PAYE Remittances
Your payroll records, PAYE filings and employee information should align across the relevant tax authorities.

If your payroll says one thing and your tax filings say another, you may be creating unnecessary compliance questions.

3. Withholding Tax
WHT is not just about getting your tax credit.

When another business deducts and files WHT on payments made to your business, that transaction is now visible to the tax authority.

Your WHT records should therefore align with your sales, income and other tax filings.

The goal is simple:

What your business does, what your records show and what you file should all tell the same story.

Don't wait for an audit to discover the gaps.

Dear Business Owner,

Is your business really ready for Rev360?

Imagine a business, registered with the CAC as a Pharmacy business, but on Rev360 it is registered as Professional Services. This "minor" mismatch could prevent you from accessing tax exemptions and incentives available to Pharmacy businesses because, as far as the tax system is concerned, your business is classified differently.

Many businesses assume they are compliant until the system starts connecting the dots.

Also, how regularly do you check your taxes due status? Do you have a retinue of unfiled or late taxes?

Filing your taxes is important, but ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฆ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž is just as important. Late filings can lead to penalties and interest, even where little or no tax is payable.

With the commencement of the ๐๐ข๐ ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐š ๐“๐š๐ฑ ๐€๐œ๐ญ (๐๐“๐€) and the other new tax legislations, the cost of non compliance has increased significantly. It is now far more expensive to ignore your tax obligations than to stay compliant.

Don't wait until Rev360 exposes gaps that could have been corrected early.

Dear Business Owner,

A credit alert is not automatically taxable.

One of the biggest misconceptions about tax is that every inflow into your account attracts tax.

It doesn't.

Tax is based on income, not simply on money moving through your accounts.

If you transfer money between your own accounts, you have not earned anything new. You are simply moving your existing funds.

The same applies to investments. When you move โ‚ฆ1,000,000 into an investment account, that amount is still your money. It is not the investment that is taxed.

What may become taxable is the income generated from that investment, such as interest or returns, depending on the applicable tax rules.

Understanding the difference between capital and income is essential to avoiding confusion and making better financial decisions.

Don't assume every inflow is taxable. Understand the nature of each transaction.

Dear Business Owner,

Not every inflow into your account is taxable.

One of the biggest misconceptions about tax is that every credit alert automatically means you owe tax.

It doesn't.

Tax is based on income, not simply on money moving through your accounts.

If you transfer money between your own bank accounts, you haven't earned new income. You have only moved your existing money.

The same applies to genuine loans, gifts, or other receipts that are not income. However, if money comes into your account from another person or business, you should be able to explain what it represents and support it with proper documentation where necessary.

The key is this:

The tax authorities don't just look at the movement of money. They look at the nature of the transaction.

Good records make it easy to distinguish income from transfers, loans, gifts, or other non taxable receipts.

If you cannot explain an inflow, you may have difficulty defending it during a tax review or audit.

๐ƒ๐ž๐š๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐Ž๐ฐ๐ง๐ž๐ซ,

Your bank narration is important.

But it is ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐Ÿ.

Writing "gift" in a transfer description does not automatically make it a gift. During a tax audit, regulators can ask questions.

Who received the money?

Why was it paid?

What is the relationship?

What evidence supports the narration?

The same applies to business expenses, supplier payments, and other transactions. A bank transfer only shows that money moved. It does not explain the purpose of the transaction.

That is why every significant payment should be backed by proper documentation such as invoices, receipts, contracts, purchase orders, or other supporting records.

When your records and supporting documents tell the same story, compliance becomes much easier.

Don't rely on narrations alone. Build an evidence trail that protects your business.

Comment "Free Call" and we'll give you a FREE 15-minute consultation on how to strengthen your business records and stay audit-ready.

Building wealth is one thing.

๐๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ข๐ญ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ.

As your income and business grow, your exposure to tax and compliance also increases. Ignoring this can turn years of hard work into avoidable liabilities.

Two of the smartest steps you can take today are:

โ€ข Put your personal tax affairs in order, not just your business taxes.
โ€ข Keep your personal and business finances completely separate.

Mixing accounts may seem convenient, but it creates confusion, weakens your records, and can expose you to unnecessary tax and regulatory issues.

Wealth is not just about making more money. It's about protecting what you have built.

Comment "Free Call" and we'll give you a FREE 15-minute consultation on how to protect your wealth through proper tax planning and compliance.

Dear Business Owner,

Keeping records is not enough.

Keeping the right records the right way is what protects your business.

Many business owners have sales records, expense lists, or Excel sheets. While these are a good start, they often fall short when banks, investors, auditors, or tax authorities request information.

Your records are not meant for you alone.

They should be clear, complete, and organized enough that anyone with a legitimate interest in your business can understand them without confusion.

Poor record keeping doesn't just make decision making difficult. It can lead to compliance issues, rejected expenses, failed audits, and unnecessary tax liabilities.

Build a record keeping system that works for your business today, not one you'll have to fix tomorrow.
