The Waste Management Innovation Challenge 2021 kick-off last Wednesday was a huge success, we had great time and important moment, and we listened to 7 waste management entrepreneurs that pitched their innovative ideas to the solutions to waste management that is affecting humanity from Nigeria, South Africa, Norway and Japan.
We had the following pitchers from Digital Solution, Recycling & Waste and BIO-Tech Solutions:
- Empower – Norway
- Kudoti – South Africa
- Waste Bazaar – Nigeria
- Wecyclers – Nigeria
- OkwuEco - Nigeria
- Aranea – Japan
- Bakture - Japan
The kick-off was held both virtually (Zoom) and face -to - face at the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Office at Churchgate building, Lagos, Nigeria.
The goal is to identify at least 20 startups from all corners of the globe that are offering solutions related to waste management and help them scale-up by getting investors that are willing to invest in the waste management sector.
In the spirit of inclusiveness and bringing the whole pitchers together, starting in 2022 we will have a fully in-person event next year.
Waste Management Innovation Challenge is an affiliate project of 4Revolutions (4Revs) is a unique, co-creative ecosystem which aims to help humanity solve its four main survival challenges (food/water/resource/energy & climate change) in one generation – between 2020-2050 by Empowering social innovators and entrepreneurs and help them scale-up.

Today, Ibe Chris Chidi and Felix Iziomoh, had a meeting with the Japan External Trade Organization JETRO Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner on the forth coming Waste Management Innovation Challenge Lagos 2021 which will be hosted by JETRO, Lagos, Nigeria.
We are looking forward towards hosting the first of it's kind in Lagos, Nigeria all interested waste management start-ups and entrepreneurs.

Most landfills lack proper on-site waste management thereby contributing to additional threats to the environment. In the long-term, landfills leak and pollute ground water and other neighboring environmental habitats making waste management very difficult. They also give off potentially unsafe gases. 4REVOLUTIONS solving humanity greatest challenges in one generation.
