It’s been six weeks of learning, Mondays to Saturdays. The most interesting part is that all sessions are topnotch. It is an interesting learning experience to have expertises in the digital space drill one for hours. On Monday, we had Introduction to Web Design, Site mapping and User Experience, the session was facilitated by Mr Seyi Omotunde. The beautiful part about that session was how he demystified web design. I used to think web designing is tougher than mathematics, well, I prefer web design to mathematics now. I have been able to try to do some stuff on my Visual Studio code. Yeah! w3school is really helpful too.

The second session on Monday was with Mrs. Aanu Gopald, Be Agile-Introduction to Agile Methodology. Agile is a process by which a team can manage a project by breaking it up into several stages and involving constant collaboration for efficiency and maximum productivity.

On Tuesday, we had a revision session with Mr Joshua Theophilus as preparation for our Facebook BluePrint exam is in top gear. In addition to that, we had a mock exam. For me, I really need to bury my head and read. Well, I have no reservation that I will do well in my examination.

In the afternoon, It was a great privilege to have another agency guest, Mr Emmnauel Mang, a Google Analytics Specialist who spoke to us on Google Analytics and Decision Making. I learnt the benefit and how Google Analytics can help one make informed marketing decisions

On Wednesday, we had Mr. Gabriel Aborisade, who also gave a practical Introduction to UI/UX. I learnt that before one designs a product, the place of product research could not be taken with levity.

On Thursday, we had a quick session with Mrs Florence Olumodiumu on Personal Branding and Resume Review. In that session, I learnt that having an eye for details is a necessity.

On Friday, as the customs and traditions of DigifyNG is, we had a Live Brief session. My team gave it her best. It has been a taxing week for my team and I. We responded to two Live Briefs amidst other activities that come with being in DigifyPro. In that, my team didn't fail to rank in the top 3 performing teams for the week.

Week Six was a great week, as the training continue to cruise to week eight. I am very optimistic that the coming week- week seven will be another week of learning and development.

Many started the journey on the 5th of October 2020, but a number of people dropped out. For me, coming this far has been an embodiment of willpower and grace. Week Five just ended in a grand style. I met about 50 other brilliant participants.

As the training draws to its end, the quality of what is being taught is in high momentum. We began Week Five with Paid Advertising. That session was facilitated by Mr Seyi. My key takeaways are what Advertising is, the tools for advertising, the advantages and disadvantages of organic and paid ad.

In the afternoon, we had an agency guest from QVT Media, she spoke on Media Planning and Media Buying the Digital Age. I better understood what paid, earned and shared media buying is.

On Tuesday, we had our final Facebook BluePrint Session with Mr Joshua Theophilus on Using Data to solve Business Problems. The afternoon session was on Make Better Ads with Facebook Reporting. My key takeaways from that session is that a business goal must align with the business campaign.

On Wednesday, we had an agency guest from HR Hunting in person of Ajibola Omkagbo who gave an expository insight on the topic- Job Readiness and Understanding WorkPlace Conduct and Behavior. I learnt how to develop the right mindset for the workplace.

On Thursday, we had the co-founder of boomlink.com, Brittini Abiola who walked us through Gig Opportunities and Skills Required to land one. I understood what Agile work is, working collaboratively and how to develop the Gig Economy mindset.

On Friday, we had our live brief presentation from QVT Media Agency. One session of the brief I can't forget in a hurry is the feedback session. There is so much to learn as one listens to the experts of the industry talk.
Interestingly, my group won the live brief for the 3rd time. Special shout to my teammates.

To draw the activities of the week to a close, I had the privilege of meeting about 50 other amazing and brilliant participants in the training.

It is safe to say that a lot about me has changed in the last 5 weeks. I graciously look forward to having a productive week 6.

Strategy is better than energy.

When Socrates said ‘Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.’ he must have foreseen that DigifyNG will come into existence. As you read this, my digital flame has been kindled.

Let me walk you through how my week four went. Week four was strategy week. On Monday we had our first learning session for the week- Introduction to Strategy facilitated by Mr Seyi Omotunde. I learnt the elements of strategy which are Information, Tactics and End goal. Also, I learned the types of Strategy and how to create a digital strategy. Can I tell you this, you need an outstanding Digital Strategy. I am at your beck and call.

The second session was on Creative Strategy facilitated by an agency guest Mr Ranti Atunwa from TBWA. My key takeaway from that session is that Creatives must not just be for fun but also be informative, educational and give the target audience a call to action.

On Tuesday, we had another interesting Facebook BluePrint session with Mr Joshua Theophilus. The first session was on understanding your customer with page Insight while the second session was on How Facebook Pixel works- Information for targeting, optimization and measurement.

On Wednesday, we had a session on Introduction to After Effect-Motion Graphics and Digital Animation. Motion Graphics are animation of static graphic element to convey additional meaning

On Thursday, we had a session with Chimi Chimerede on Finding Solutions through Design Thinking. I learnt how the steps to Design Thinking- empathize, define the problem and Ideate. One has to first identify the problem and think of a possible solution.
And the afternoon session was a continuation of our Effective Communication class with Mrs Florence Olumodimu. That session was a bumper package. I learnt the tips for delivering a topnotch online and onsite presentation. I also learnt the effective use of language while communicating, the appropriate use of vocal variety, techniques and Impromptu speech delivery. That session is always an interesting one.

On Friday, as the tradition has always been, we had our agency live brief presentation. Without mincing, all the groups that presented brought their best foot forward. I enjoyed my colleagues' live brief presentation. Be that as it may, my group- The Ivy Group, won!
Yes, we won!

To round off the week, on Saturday, we have six amazing sessions. Ms. Celestine Ukpere opened my eyes to the future of work. Mr Dennis Kabingu showed us a step by step process of opening a freelancing account with UpWork. Mr Chukwuma Johnbosco Amobi exposed us to what it entails to work in an agency and converting a business brief to a creative brief. While Ms. Adeola Adenipekun had a session on Introduction to Stop Motion Graphics with us.

Finally, Ms. Motolani Babalola had a session on Succeeding in Strategy and Account Management.

Hopes are high, thoughts are much. As I progress into the fifth week, I will make the best out of it.
