Start From Where You Are — Not From Pressure

Let me share something real with you.

I’m the kind of person that takes time before making decisions. When I came back to Nigeria, one thing was clear for me — I needed something that brings in money daily.

That was how I entered the bottled water distribution business.

Now, as time goes on, you know how we think as humans…
You start feeling like, “I want to be the main owner, I want to produce, I want to start from scratch.”

I had that mindset too — to start my own pure water production.

But as I began to learn and understand business better, I realized something very important:

Being a business owner does not automatically mean you are making money.

Let’s be honest.

You can invest millions — land, machines, setup — and still struggle with sales.
Meanwhile, that same money, if properly used in an already working system, can bring you steady returns.

From where I stand right now, distribution is working for me.

Instead of tying down huge money trying to produce, I use what I have to:

• Buy from already trusted producers
• Focus on products that move fast
• Put my energy into selling and supplying

I’ve also tested things.

There was a time I added sachet water, but it didn’t move the way I wanted. Issues like storage and leakage came in. So I made a decision — focus on bottled water because it works better for me.

That is the point.

I came across a simple line that made a lot of sense:

You can’t do ordinary things and expect extraordinary results.

And if you think about it, it’s true.

You can’t show up once in a while and expect your business to grow fast.
You can’t hide your business and expect people to suddenly discover you.
You can’t do the bare minimum and expect big results.

It doesn’t work that way.

If you want something different, then your effort has to be different.

That may mean:

Showing up consistently, even when you don’t feel like it.
Putting your business out there, even when it feels uncomfortable.
Going the extra step, even when others are doing the usual.

Because results follow effort and consistency.

This is something I remind myself daily while building . It’s not just about selling water, it’s about showing up, improving, and doing a little more each day than the average.

That is how growth happens.
