Pandemic in Afrique Noire: Scoping the Effects of Professional Healthcare Burden in the 21st Century.
Healthcare delivery in Africa as a whole is in dearth of quality healthcare services. Acknowledged a pandemic by the World Health Organization on 11th of March 2020, COVID-19 has become a universal problem, threatening the fabric of human existence. Given its impact on the entire world population and the economy. The effect of pandemics on developing nations in Afrique noire have devastating effects, owing to the poor economy and the limited access to healthcare. The scourging effect of pandemics affect the demand for health professionals, by placing demand on a limited number of healthcare practitioners, thus creating a huge entreaty for healthcare services. These places huge burden on healthcare expenditure within the polity. These strains on health systems and families takes a huge toll for both the government and families of those affected. In this paper, the researcher documents the impact of the pandemics such as, AIDS, Ebola and COVID-19 in Afrique noire. Using multiple waves of demographic and health surveys, the research extends the frontier of healthcare practice in broadening the plights of healthcare professionals in the face of ravaging effect of pandemics in Afrique noire. This study discussed the plights of medical and healthcare professionals in black Africa. The analysis focus on the association between health service delivery on one hand, and the prevalence rates of pandemics on the other at the region level.
