Let me give you guys small gist.
So a very good client gave me a call around 10pm few weeks back. She was very worried from the sound of her voice. I asked what the problem was and she said for a while now, her sales have dropped. Madam Seyi runs a small restaurant as well as a POS business. She discovered that the sale figures of the restaurant which brings in more money and was even considering closing the POS business started dropping. I asked her what she thinks the issue could be and what she said made me laugh. Madam Seyi told me she suspects its spiritual and she was prepared to tackle it that same way.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I told her to relax, sleep and we would talk extensively the following morning. I told Madam Seyi the truth about SALES. A Drop in SALE FIGURES are perfectly Normal. What maybe abnormal is constant drop even when the business should be at its peak period. We did some analysis about her business and she gave me a big sigh of relief. One that could tell she had almost destroyed her business out of ignorance. I made some recommendations and yes, things are returning to normal gradually.
Sometimes business go through certain phases on their own. All we can do is to watch and then reposition.

Dear SMEs a drop in sales is perfectly normal in Business. A consistent drop is what you should be worried about.

Do you know that majority, like over 80% of those employed in Nigeria are self employed. You don't need any maths to tell you how many are SMEs. What a blessing in disguise. If these businesses are thriving despite the poor economic conditions and policies not forgetting the lack of access to credit facilities, just imagine if the government decides to push 30% of its revenue to drive this sector. We may just be solving a lot of Macro economic issues such as debt financing to service recurrent expenditures. Not saying the government have not tried in this sector, my problem is the sincerity in approach and consistency. SMEs are the very foundation, the spinal cord, the back bone of any economy. For a country that has such high figure of self employed and a rising population, the SMEs sector should not be an option, it should be a major priority.

My Dear Entrepreneurs and Business owners, how is the health of your business today. Let me share with you a growth strategy, one of many I have been implementing for some of my clients.
Today I want to share with you on the power of COMPARATIVE ADVANTAGE and how to use it as a growth strategy in this new business era. According to an Oxford online dictionary, Comparative Advantage means the ability of an individual or group to carry out a particular economic activity (such as making a specific product) more efficiently than another activity.
With the problem of the pandemic, many businesses have been forced to short down some or all of their business activities and value chains due to unbearable and unforseen overhead expenses. There is need for companies to re evaluate their business process and even their current comparative advantage analysis they currently use. Let me share a few TIPs with you
A. Take a thorough look at your business process. Outline all the economic activities and value chain your business engage in
B. Identify the one(s) that does not bring so much overhead to your business
C. Cut off from the activities that bring so much overhead by outsourcing them or entering into a partnership or joint venture with other businesses that compliment yours. For example, if it cost so much to bring in your goods from other places, you may have to partner with a logistics company or look for other businesses that also have similar issues and come together to hire a logistics company that can move such goods once and the cost is shared amongst yourselves.
D. Monitor and evaluate this growth strategy from time to time. Ensure your business is not at the receiving end of this strategy. You may need to leave room to re-evaluate whatever agreement have been entered with other business as the economic situation changes.

Why is BBS with John Ayobami a big deal.
1. The success of every economy rest solely on the success of its SMEs and MSEs. While a lot of intervention has been initiated by the government, one major drawback that has affected many entrepreneurs over the years is defining, setting up and monitoring business structures.
2. No business can be bigger than its structure. As a matter of fact, the classification of business is done according to its characteristics which are embedded in its structures
3. Growing a business literally means growing and expanding its structures. So if you desire to move from a SME to a MSE to a Corporation, then you need BBS.

Major focus
A. Production or Service structure
B. Sales and marketing structure
C. Book keeping/ Accounting structure (Finance)
D. Human Resource structure.
