Africa development challenges have many sources but one of them is within the control of Africans. Agriculture is the mainstay of our subsistence and provide over 75% of our employment but we have remained slaves to colonial arrangement of producing for the developed nations' industrial complex. We are raw material oriented. Even when chain of colonialism was removed from the Africa, the continent remained tamed in the slavery way.
Why should you produce for other people's gain?. A ton of cocoa is about N1m now but the same product when it come back you in chocolate and other product we will pay about N6m for it. The product would have paid SGS for grading, Shippers freight to and from and provide employment for sundry people in packaging, warehousing, processing industries.
In the end the grower received about 18% of value of cocoa and the rest 82% for those who never see a cocoa plantation. It the same for other raw materials.

Why not grow what you need and have capacity to add value to instead. If any company want cocoa, he should bring the plant here. That is only when Africa will gradually unchain herself. Development is obvious for people who look with their head.

Our development stride can never outpace our leaders' capability. Recruitment process for leadership needs to be finetuned. Democracy placed this in the hands of people but how do we discharge the responsibility.
If we are unhappy about the kind of leadership offering us, then we need to change the process.

Recession may be painful but it is result of what we have being doing in the past. We may not ALL contribute in the same measure but we are all perpetrators of the past obscenities one way or the other.
We are failing times, on times, every times because we fail to learn change in our environment about 400 years. We are using our ancestor wisdom when the environment has no resemblance of their time.
Simple rule of survival is ADAPTABILITY to your ENVIRONMENT with sole aim of turning it to your ADVANTAGE when you become topdog or else your will be exterminated.
The problem of our Nation and Black Race is that we refuse to understand that no other race, people or system will come to our rescue. We either device our own RULE OF ENGAGEMENT in this global war or else we will be yesterday people in reality.Unless that we change we may be exterminated. If you think it is not possible for a continent to be exterminated, ask American Indian. STRATEGY ART of SURVIVAL.

This night estimated 800 million people will sleep without food in their belly globally. Ironically, this world is currently producing more than its 7+billion people can consume. OUR PROBLEM is waste of food. At the base of current hunger is IGNORANCE, SELFISHNESS and IRRESPONSIBILITY.
IGNORANCE of how to preserve our produce, ignorance on how to fight pest and crops disease, ignorance of where surplus is and ignorance of how to bring surplus to scarcity. Only Knowledge can solve these.
SELFISHNESS of those who would rather waste than shared their food, selfishness of middle men on the food chain who waste produce to create scarcity and selfishness of people who hoard information on where their is surplus.
IRRESPONSIBILITY of those at helm of affair that will rather invest in armament rather than make this world worthy of living for all its people.
