𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧⁣

In a study of 343 businesses conducted with the Economist Intelligence Unit, companies that embraced initiatives and chose to go on fast mode to try to gain an edge over their competitors, ended up with lower sales and operating profits than those that paused at key moments to make sure they were on the right track. ⁣

What’s more, the firms that “slowed down to speed up” improved their top and bottom lines, averaging 40% higher sales and 52% higher operating profits over a three-year period.⁣

𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 are two of the most significant mistakes that business leaders are prone to in a quest to build their business ; good decision making happens when knowledge is robust and vision is clear.⁣

𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝗪𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐟 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐈𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝗪𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 (Pt 1)⁣

A workplace becomes stagnated when managed by someone who takes on a negative outlook. 𝘈 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘴, 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴, 𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴.⁣🙁😕😟

If a company strives for a workplace that's upbeat and positive, a negative manager will prevent the company from accomplishing that goal.⁣

When a manager dwells on the problems, rather than focusing on a solution, the company's goals cannot be achieved. ⁣

One of the primary assets of a manager is his ability to work with his employees. It is impossible however, for a negative manager to effectively manage every employees to achieve and strive for more.⁣

This negative outlook tends to demotivate employees, turn optimist to cynics.⁣
Business goals will not be achieved and if not quickly sorted out, might lead to business failure.⁣

Believe and Ask for the Impossible.⁣

Dream Big; Audacious Dreams. Set big spiritual goals. Stretch yourself and your team. Find new ways to look at old problems. Embrace belief. Pray big prayers and expect bigger answers.⁣

Everything great starts with a dream. The world is better when people dream big and believe that impossible things can happen. Challenge yourself to ask "what if" questions and use your imagination to see the world in new and different ways.⁣

People desire to be with leaders and organisations who have big visions. 𝐄𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟑:𝟐𝟎-𝟐𝟏 states, " 𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦, 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘶𝘴, 𝟸𝟷 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳! Amen." ⁣

God wants to do things that amaze you. Dream big and ask God to do more than you ask or dream. A big vision inspires and attracts. Supersize your thoughts and your beliefs.⁣

Meetings are often times scheduled for active discussions and creating solutions. ⁣

Some tips for having effective meetings.⁣

𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠:⁣

𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢 𝘢𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦: it should state clearly:⁣
what the objective of the meeting is, time allocated for each session of the meeting etc.⁣

𝘙𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵 :⁣
if you’re asking people to present or share information , let them know ahead of time.⁣

𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠:⁣

𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨. Stick to scheduled time. If it’s a long meeting give room for short breaks⁣

𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 : ensure that everyone who attends can share his/her thoughts. ⁣

𝘚𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘴 : using the SMART model. Do not get trapped into writing minutes just for documentation purpose only. ⁣

𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: ⁣

𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴 (minutes) to all concerned and follow up to ensure execution!⁣

Meeting management skills are required across a broad spectrum of life endeavours, even family meetings.⁣

𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐓⁣

Trust is a principle that has shaped many companies and relationships.⁣

Leaders in the workplace most especially, are called upon to make many decisions. He or she must be willing to set the direction and the path of the business, department or unit to ensure its growth and development. ⁣

In the business world, the opportunities are endless. Therefore, you must know your core and where to find the inspiration and directions for your vision and decisions. ⁣

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬 𝟑:𝟓-𝟔 states, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.” ⁣

Trust is essential in business. Customers must trust the product/service. Leaders must trust their people. Teams must trust each other and those who are wise in these times, should trust the in Lord.⁣

He alone can help you navigate the current challenging business terrain.⁣

Remember, He knows the right side to cast the net in order to a have ‘𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘰𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩’. John 21:6⁣

⁣⁣
Due to the resurgence of the pandemic, many people who are now working from home may be juggling childcare, work demands and other responsibilitie which could result in stress with common reactions such as feelling overwhelmed, not thinking clearly, being short-fused, keeping to oneself etc.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
As a fellow workplace colleague, here are some ways to show support:⁣⁣

🔻Be patient with email responses⁣⁣
🔻Extend deadlines, if possible⁣⁣
🔻Offer to help on a project⁣⁣
🔻Reschedule meetings, if needed⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
You may also find that a co-worker just needs to talk or wants to express their feelings or concerns. In such situations, aim to be kind and compassionate in your responses.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
After hearing the concerns of the other person, prayer may be a helpful resource in caring. Spirituality and prayer can be an important source of strength for some people. Listen for and acknowledge emotional and physical needs, as well as spiritual needs.⁣⁣
