Plot

Jang hui-won is a fiercely independent workaholic who excels at her job at a major beer🍺 production company. Because she grew up watching her parent toxic marriage 👫fall apart she has zero interest in dating and vowed to stay single forever.

Kang du-jun is a perfect second generation chaebol heir who also swore off marriage, dedicating his life entirely to his family business after a past family tragedy. He is always the newly appointed president of her company.

Plot;

Seong Huiju 👱plays a chaebol heiress and the CEO of castle beauty💅. She has money and power but gets judged for being a commoner with no royal and noble blood.
Grand prince yi an👑 is the king's second son. He has the title but zero real power still struck under palace rules.
Seong Huiju offers Grand prince yi an a contract marriage to fix both their problems. She wants royal status and he needs to escape pressure from the queen mother to get married. It started as a strategy to gain power💪 but later turns into real feelings💖.

Some questions that are just bothering me are;

I can't find anywhere in the drama that the prime minister confessed his love 🩷and feelings to seong Huiju.
Why did the prime minister suddenly became evil towards the grand prince?
Why was the queen mother not punished for crowning her son as the new young king?
Who tampered with seong Huiju's car🚗 and who sent him?
Why did the prime minister not receive any punishment for the crimes he committed?

Plot

Oh Ae-sun born 1951 in jeju island, she's a rebellious girl, a book worm who wants to be a poet, dreams bigger than her village but life keeps knocking her down .

Yang gwan-sik The "unyielding iron" guy. A steel heart, steady, quiet, loved her since they were kids, shows love through action not words.

Narrated by their daughter Yang geum-myeong. The story jumps between Ae-sun's youth and later life as a wife and mum, plus geum- myeong's own struggle in Seoul.
It's not a fairytale perfect. they go through poverty, loss , illness, generational trauma.this isn't a rom -com where everything wraps neatly . There's grief, regret and some heartbreak along the way.

Lessons I learnt from this masterpiece

A child can walk away from a sick parent but it'll never be the other way round. A mother's love for her children is always overflowing, no matter how imperfect they may be as people. It is always hard when a parent lost their kids. Why is it so surprising when, one day, we reap what we've so relentlessly sown?
