YOUR TENANCY AGREEMENT

A Tenancy Agreement is a contract between a Landlord and a Tenant.
Tenants should ensure they read the Tenancy Agreement, understand the terms and conditions, before they sign it.

Commencement Date
The Commencement Date is a clause in the Tenancy Agreement which states the date the lease/tenancy term begins. In your Tenancy Agreement, it looks like this:

"THIS LEASE is made on the 1st day of July, 2016."

Look out for this date. If this date contradicts your intention/agreement with the Landlord as regards when your tenancy term begins, call for clarifications before you sign the Agreement.
