Talkers Energy-Buy Solar Lighting kits, Off-grid appliances. Talkers Energy is a start-up last-mile distributor of solar products, off-grid appliances e.g DC fan, DC bulbs. We make rural household lighting and cooking safer and cost-effective. Talkers’ Energy Enterprises is start-up for-profit last-mile distribution enterprise in Lagos, Nigeria. We sell and service solar panels, charge controllers, solar lanterns, mini Solar Home System etc. to rural communities/ associations through networks of inter-dependent local entrepreneurs in the community/ association. Our vision is to increase the market penetration of solar products at the last-mile where it is needed the most among rural dwellers through innovative sales and service distribution model, in other to eradicate completely the use of kerosene or candles as lighting source in rural households in Nigeria. We at Talkers’ Energy noticed that rural dwellers agree to the benefits accompanying the use of solar lanterns but can’t afford the outright payment for the lamps due to poverty among the rural poor in Nigeria; with more than 100 million Nigerian living below $2/day. During our pilot scheme we have designed and tested a self-sustaining scalable distribution model to cost-effectively distribute solar lanterns in rural communities. Our solution is a new tested cost-effective financing and after-sales service model which most of our recruited and trained local entrepreneurs would be trained to use, to profitably distribute solar lanterns to the base of the pyramids with the least capital and risk involved.
