It’s that time again for another exciting edition of Plein Air Lagos! You know the drill: find a stunning spot in the beautiful city of Lagos, let your creativity flow, and paint away! Don’t forget to capture your artistic process in a 1-2 minute video and share it using the hashtag.

This year, the best artworks will be showcased in one of our favorite galleries, and the artist whose piece receives the most admiration will win NGN 300,000!

The contest is officially underway, and we’ve got some surprises lined up for you along the journey.

Calling on all artists for the 2022 edition of Plein Air Lagos.
All artists from any part of Nigeria can participate.

Entry: Artists should post a 1-2 min video of their process, painting landscape outdoors and tag using the hashtag for a chance to win N200,000

This initiative was setup to encourage artists to create new work and alleviate financial pressure.
Contest runs from Nov 14 - Dec 14. It’s strictly online so all you have to do is upload your video and tag us.

Did you miss us?
Its been a long while but we are back! Starting off with our Plein Air Lagos event in November 2016. We aim for this to become a festival so we need everyone on board.,
We will be celebrating the talents of national and international artists before a wide and growing audience in the heart of Lagos along its beautiful shores.

Plein Air – Art works carried out in the open air – chiefly with reference to painting.

The Plein Air competitions and Freestyle, however, accept any 2-dimensional media or mixed-media applied to a canvas/board/paper embracing drawing, pastels, oils, watercolour, gouache, acrylic, pen and ink, and even screen-printing. Innovation and originality are encouraged alongside traditional art forms.

Whether you’re new to art or advanced in your skills and seeking a creative challenge, The Pencil push club is a free, fun avenue to explore the medium, improve your technique, and meet other art enthusiasts!
Introduce yourself to the fundamentals of drawing, or basic color and composition. Practice various approaches to charcoal and pastel drawings or draw from a live model. Make new friends over a cold drink or coffee while drawing in cafes and other locations in Lagos.
Join us this November 2015 for a week of Studio and gallery visits, Art therapy & master classes from some of the greatest artists of our time, Plein air drawings at different locations in Lagos, Canvas &Cocktail Art live and more.. Registration starts September 10, 2015.
