LIFE LESSONS THAT WILL PREPARE YOU FOR THE NEW YEAR:
#1. As we approach a new year, it is important that we should not leave our happiness or joy in the hand of any man or the devil. You must let people around you know that your joy and happiness is your choice and totally located in God.
#2. No matter how fast you go in the wrong direction, you will never get to the destination. The first and most important step to take in life is to get the right direction. For a child of God this means to get a clear vision and direction from God.
#3. Do not just work by your intellect and intelligence, obey God given instincts and promptings. Intelligence and instinct will be great beacons on the journey.
#4. It is time to begin to renew your mind with God's mind. Begin to actively fill your thoughts with the thoughts of God through the process of long periods of meditation of God's word. Remember, if your mind cannot conceive it your hands will not receive.
#5. Your true worth and value is determined by God and not by any man. You must take your true identity and definition from God and His word. You are who He says you are and you can do what He says that you can do, it is also important that you do not undervalue your worth.
#6. Your value does not decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth.
#7. Life is not a quick dash, it is a marathon. Many times the journey of life is not a very straight road, there will be twists and turns but the great news is that if you stay with God you will win in the end.
#8. The only way you can engage with God and receive anything of substance from Him is by *faith*. Our God does not operate in the sense realm neither does He operate in the physical realm because He is a Spirit. The access into the realm of the spirit and the supernatural is by faith.
#9. Develop a uniqueness to your talent so you can stand out. Keep growing and working at it in the dark so that in the day when it will be needed, you will come out as gold.
#10. It is important to know that *courage is not the absence of fear*, it is taking action despite the fear that you feel.
#11. One action is worth more than a thousand contemplations. You do not build a reputation by what you are contemplating on doing, you build a reputation by what you actually do.
#12. As we prepare for a new year, we must approach it from the eye of God's word. We must begin to seek God's heart and word for the new season that is coming and approach the year from the perspective of the one that is already in our eternity-future.
#13. It does not matter the toil, struggles, and terrible challenges that you faced this outgoing year, know that God's plan and purposes for you in the new year are good plans to give you a future and a hope.
#14. As a new year approaches, what new dreams, goals and vision do you sense God putting in your heart? Articulate them and begin to focus on them no matter how impossible and difficult they may appear. Remember that with God all things are possible.
#15. God is not really impressed by your thoughts and contemplation. He is more impressed by the actions that you take. The bible says that we are only justified by our actions. In this new season of your life, ruthlessly deal with the power and spirit of procrastination. Whatever you can do today, do it. Stop putting things off.
#16. It is important that you do not allow popular opinion no matter how popular and widespread to frame your perceptions and thoughts. If that popular opinion does not line up with God's word, please throw it into the trash can.
#17. Faith in God must take you beyond reason and logic. You may have set goals before that you grossly fell short of, this shouldn't stop you from setting new goals and challenging yourself to pursue the new goals.
#18. A key life lesson you should learn especially if you are gifted or talented is that talent by itself cannot bring you significant success in life. You must add a lot of hard work to your talent in order for your talent to produce for you. Hard work means diligently exerting yourself to be the very best you can be.
#19. Life is not so much about what happens to us, it is how we respond to what happens to us. It is not really the level of what is thrown at us or the degree of provocation that we face; it is how we respond to what is throw at us or the provocation.
#20. A life without definite goals is like playing football with out goal posts. It becomes an exercise in futility and a waste of time. With no goal posts you will not know when you have scored, without goal posts there will be no serious motivation to keep playing.
#21. You will never attain the fullness of divine attributes, purpose and capacity without a spiritual regeneration. Biologist, scientists and doctors may call you 'a human being' but from God or biblical view point, you are a SPIRIT BEING totally made in the likeness and image of God.
#22. God doesn't expect us to wait for time to heal us because our lives will remain at a standstill while time is passing us by. God expects us to make a conscious determined effort to let go of the past.
#23. The more you develop and build your spirit or spirit-man in the place of the word of God, worship and prayer, the more you will begin to manifest as a true "son" of God.
#24. The key to your transformation is transformative thinking. Your life follows the path of your most predominant thoughts. If you align your heart and mind to the thinking and mindset of God, your maker, victory will be certain in every arena of life.
#25. Your greatest self esteem, self evaluation and self worth should come from the fact that you are complete in Him. God should be the greatest validation of your self worth and esteem.
#26. One way of guaranteeing that you are going to be around for a long time to fulfill your God given purpose on earth is to decide from today to adopt a lifestyle that will keep your body here for a long time.
#27. Learn to be quiet as you diligently strive towards your God ordained success. This does not mean that you should not express gratitude for what God has done or is doing in your life; you should always appreciate Him for every season and phase of your life. You should just be discreet about somethings.
#28. Our strength is really determined by how much we can withstand pressure. We must inculcate meekness in every area of our lives. Meekness is not weakness. It is strength under control- the control of God..
#29. You are your decisions. Your life today is a sum total of all the decisions of your yesterday. You make your choice, your choice makes you. Decision are extremely important, they frame your life and destiny.
#30. No matter how bad it is or how bad that situation is, put your hope and trust in God. Always search for the mind and perspective of God in every situation.
#31. Plant seeds of righteousness, Unity & transparency and not wickedness, division or back bitting wherever you go. *Powerfully influence and impact people with your righteousness wherever God leads you or plants you.*
#32. Never make serious and significant decisions based on the surface things. Be very watchful of your words. *It is not everything that you should say to people*. Be more discreet. Remember that silence can never be misquoted.
