Today is my birthday!🎂

And I decided to give myself something meaningful.
A fresh start.

This past year taught me a lot about responsibility, especially financially.

I realised that earning money is one thing…
But understanding it is another thing entirely.

At some point, I noticed I didn’t even have a clear system showing:

• Whether I was financially safe or not

So I built one for myself.

I’m not just celebrating a new age..I’m starting something new.

If you earn income in Nigeria and don’t plan for tax, you’re exposed, even if things seem fine now.

Not because you’re careless.
Not because you’re lazy.

But because tax is a responsibility that doesn’t adjust to how busy or overwhelmed you are.

Planning early removes panic later.

A lot of people underestimate the power of simply being cordial at work.

Not overly friendly..not stiff..just respectful, warm, and pleasant.

Cordiality sets the tone for healthy teamwork.

It doesn’t mean I agree with everyone, or that every day is easy.
It simply means I choose composure over conflict, clarity over chaos.

When you stay cordial:

✨ You’re easier to collaborate with
✨ You resolve misunderstandings faster
✨ You build trust without even trying
✨ You model emotional maturity

This has always been my guiding principle in a work environment and it has always served me well in avoiding unnecessary and avoidable drama.

Sometimes the most powerful soft skill isn’t deep empathy or complex communication.
Sometimes it’s just showing up with a calm, steady, respectful attitude.

Cordiality won’t make you perfect, but it makes the workplace better for everyone, including you.

The Weight You’re Carrying…

She sat behind the counter in her small shop, phone in hand, staring at yet another WhatsApp notification.

“You’re not serious. I’ll take my order somewhere else.”
The words stung.

Not because she didn’t care...
But because she was tired. Bone-deep tired.

Her WhatsApp was overflowing with unread messages.
The notebook where she tracked payments was a mess of crossed-out figures and arrows. She couldn’t even tell if she’d made a profit last month.
