Episode 20

Go to the dining and wait for me" Nina said with her hands crossed.
"Is it ready?" Theo asked curiously, trying to get a peep.
"Just wait for me!"
"Fine. Why don't I wait for you in your room, instead?"
"That is, if you can locate my room."
Immediately, Theo left the kitchen and she quickly turned to the bowl. She took a little taste from it and squeezed her face. It tasted sour.
She bit her lips and groaned, knowing fully well she was busted.

She looked for him at the dining but couldn't find him there. Instantly, she hurried to her room and surprisingly found him there.
"What're you doing here?" She asked with dilated eyes and theo rushed to take the tray of food from her.
"I thought you asked me to look for it?" He asked as he placed the tray on the bed. .
"Come on, sit".
Nina sat on the bed next to him and watched him uncovering the plates. Her heart skipped at that moment.
He stared at the food keenly and looked at Nina.
"Am I free to eat?" He asked and chuckled at Nina shaking her head.
He took in a spoonful of it and squeezed his face, looking like someone who was about throwing up.
He managed to gulp it down with a large quantity of water.
"Nina, I may have never tasted Salmorejo or whatever it's called, but I'm pretty sure this isn't how it's supposed to taste" he said with an ugly grin as he took in more gulps of water.
Nina was already cringing, but tried to be a little defensive.
"What're you saying, Theo? Of course this is how Salmorejo tastes." She replied dauntlessly and also took in a spoon from her own plate.
It wasn't delectable at all and she was fighting not to male it obvious on her face.
"How can you even argue about it?" She continued. "you haven't tasted it before. So, what makes you think this is the wrong taste?"
"Cut it out, Nina. You should've just swallowed down your pride and tell me you've never handled a spoon before. So I'd know what I'm getting ready for".
"What? How dare you say that to me? You're such an ungrateful brat. Besides, I think this is all your fault. Remember, I told you to leave the kitchen, right? I told you guys weren't allowed in the kitchen but you just wouldn't listen and now you're trying to put the blame on me'.
"Do I need to invite the press?" Theo asked when Nina got on her feet.
"Whatever" she replied and sat back on the bed.
"Anyway, "she continued, folding her hands. "Daddy said I'm gonna enroll into a Catherine school the moment I leave high school".
"Seriously?" Theo asked and laughed. "So what do you expect me to eat when we get married? Would I have to feed on the maids food until you go into Catherine school?
"Besides, you should've simply told me you weren't a cook at all and might only be one after going to a Catherine school, instead of beating around the bush".
Nina frowned and flicked his ears.
"Whatever. I'm still better than you" she said defensively.
"Excuse me. In what way?"
He shook his head and left the bed, returning with a teddy which had been on table.
That was Nina's talking teddy.
"Wow! Where did get it?" Theo asked excitedly as he turned it from left to right.
Nina glowered her eyes at him and spanked him on the head.
"You're so annoying, Theo. Do you really have to stir up the anger? You should know I still haven't forgotten you".
"Seriously?"
"Yes! And I don't think I'm ever going to. You tricked me! It's a good thing I didn't tell you about august 19th"
Theo scoffed and took a look at her.
"August 19th? What happened then?" He asked with a gush of curiosity.
"you're so dumb, Theo. Why would I be happy I didn't tell you about it then and still be willing to tell you now? You should know it's a secret".
He sighed with less satiation.
And one more thing, don't think you passed the love test stuff, cause you didn't. It was also part of your trick and maybe we're not meant for each other"
"Huh? Are you kidding me? But I passed the third test, right? Remember, you didn't tell the teddy about lt"
"Whatever. That doesn't justify it still. You cheated and that's it."
"You're unbelievable, Nina".
"And you're unimaginable, Theo".
Theo busted into laughter and she followed unresistably.
After a short time, Theo glanced at his watch and clicked his tongue.
"Nina, I need to be on my way"
"Wh...Why?" She faciled and somehow wished she didn't say it out.
"Why the why? Don't you want me to go?" Theo asked with a smile, staring directly into her eyes.
That ws exactly what Nina was trying to avoid.
"Stop dreaming, okay? I'm only concerned about my meal. Don't tell me it's going to be a waste".
"Sorry" Theo replied, pushing the tray away, slowly.
"Don't you dare, Theo. This meal took me hours to..."
"Yes, hours, but not effort".
"Shut up. Besides, when you gave me your flemish whatever, I ate a reasonable quantity from it, right?"
"Well, that's obviously because my flemish carbonade tastes better than your Salmorejo".
"Seriously? And whoever said I liked it? I only ate it just to fulfil all righteousness."
Theo pause and laughed again.
"Don't you think we'll be needing a family judge when we get married?" He asked, making Nina cringe a little.
"Where re you off to anyway?" She asked, trying not to seem affected.
"We're having a team basketball practice, getting ready for the big game ahead."
"The big game? The one coming up next tomorrow with East High?"
"Yes".
Oh, really? It's a good thing it's about to come to an end so all these practice practise stuff can be over. I've been hearing a lot about it for like ages and I think my ear are already itching"
"Of course, Nina. It isn't a child's play. We've been waiting for this game for a very long time and now it's just around the corner .It should sound big."
"Hm. Whatever. But, I heard the East High are very powerful. Do you really think you can defeat them?"
"Listen to me, Nina, losing isn't an option. Winning is something we must and will do".
"Seriously? Well, I guess I can't wait for the glorious day".
"And one favor please. Come in time so you can sit in front row."
"Why? Is my face supposed to bring some kind of luck or what?"
Theo scoffed.
" I just want to look at your face when I win" he replied and nudged her.
"You're so annoying, Theo. Anyway, you're free to go. Besides ,I have a date" Nina replied and left the bed, going for her wardrobe.
Theo's eyes gleamed.
"A date? With who?" He asked but Nina kept quiet, riffling through her wardrobe.
"With who, Nina?" He asked again and she turned back to him and smiled.
"It's Emily, Theo! Emily, okay? Duurh" She replied back at him, rolling her eyes and he laughed.
She took out a dress, placed it on the bed and escorted Theo to his car.
"Don't worry, when I win the game, I'll give the cup to you" he told her as they stopped by the car.
"Wouldn't it belong to the team?" She asked.
"Well, I'm the leader of the team" he replied sardonically and patted her on the shoulders.
"So, bye" he said.
"Bye" Nina replied and watched him go into the car.
As he drove away, she suddenly became brood, recalling the moment. It had been nice and she kind of wished she could have it for another moment.
She giggled and went back into the house, getting ready to leave for Emily's.
***
Emily's house wasn't bad after all, although it was a little damp.
Emily had welcome her in and they had made use of the sitting room since the next and only room ws the family's bedroom.
"Welcome to my humble abode Nina. I never thought I could have Nina Wesley Inn my home with me" Emily said and Nina laughed.
"You're funny, Emily" Nina said still smiling "I'm still human okay? And Nina Wesley is just a name".
"Wow! Okay".
Emily left for a short time and returned with a drink and some snacks.
"You shouldn't have bothered Emily. I'm okay" Nina said as Emily opened up the drinks and snacks.
"Seriously? Are you kidding me? Even if it meant me lendering money just to feed you I'd have done it, especially when you're paying me a visit".
They had barely began eating when Raphael came in, holding a litted cigarette, as usual.
Emily became peeved and tired signalling him to get out but he ignored her.
"And whom do we have here?" He asked in a croaky voice as he puffed some smoke at Nina's direction.
" Uhm hi" Nina replied him, staring at Emily and staring back at him.
"Hi?" He repeated. "Is that your name?"
"How long does it take to die of embarrassment, Raphael? Leave!" Emily rasped at him.
" And why should I leave? Has the house been sold out?" Raphael asked and started picking at Nina's smacks.
Emily beat his hand and pushed them away.
"This is Nina Wesley" she said angrily to him. "Try to show some respect".
"Nina Wesley" he repeated. "Is that the name of a goddess? Do I need to commit su***de at the mention of her name?"
" Uhm please, you can take all of it if you want to" Nina cut in, handing the snacks to him.
Emily gave him a stern look and he smiled and returned the snacks.
" Hey, don't think I'm scared of those bulgy eyes of yours, okay? If I really wanted to have all of it, I would okay, without anyone stopping me"
"You know, stupidity isn't a crime. So, feel free" Emily said to him as he walked out the door.
She felt so embarrassed and could also notice the displease on Nina's face.
" Oh, Nina, I'm so sorry, I had no idea he'd be around. He's just a silly guy that happens to be my brother." Emily said apologetically to Nina who returned a smile.
" There's nothing to be sorry for, Emily, I understand". Nina replied and they went on chatting.
"So, tell me about Alvin. He's going to be a priest?" Emily asked between conversation.
"Yes- as decided by his mum" Nina replied sadly.
"But that mum of his is really cold hearted. Why would she ride on her son in such way?"
"Well, can't tell. I guess that's his fate".
Emily noticed Nina was beginning to get all weepy and she quickly digressed to anew discussion.
They chatted for a long time until Emily's mum returned and Emily felt uncomfortable. She was looking so dirty .
"Good day, ma'am" Nina greeted levelly, standing on her feet.
"Oh! Isn't this Nina?"she asked excitedly. "Nina Wesley is under my roof? Emily why didn't you tell me about it?"
"Welcome mum" Emily said perfunctorily and Mrs Caroline turned to have a proper look at her.
"Oh my God, Emily?" She asked as she rushed to her, holding the arm.
"It's nothing mim. Just had a little cut while working in the kitchen".
"Ha...have you taken any medications?"
"How do you expect me to? I don't have any money".
"Oh, my . I'm. ..I'm so sorry about that. Don't worry, I'll look for money elsewhere, okay?"
"I told you mum, I'm fine"
She was sounding pi**ed off.
"Okay. Have you eaten? Sorry, there wasn't much to leave; just some slices of bread and..."
"Excuse me" Nina interrupted and hurried outside.
She had sounded strange and her eyes glinted.
"Is she alright?" Mrs Caroline asked and Emily headed outside.
She ran out and met Nina crying.
"Nina what's wrong? Why re you crying?"
Nina wept for a little more time before turning to look at her.
"I'm sorry Emily. I just miss my mom a lot and seeing you with your mum just reminded me a lot about her."
Emily was taken abacked as she never thought Nina was a still that affected by her mother's death.
"She was so sweet to me and was just like your mum. She never wanted to see a scratch on me". Nina continued and Emily held her hands.
"I'm sorry about that Nina. But...but you still have your dad with you right? And he takes good care of you." Emily said and Nina scoffed.
"Of course my dad's also sweet. But believe me, Emily. There's nothing as a mothers love. If you still have your mother with you, cherish her because someday, when she's gone, you might wake up and wish to have her around".
***
Emily sat absent mindedly in the bedroom, thinking about Nina's words go her about her mom.
She's always despised her mum because of the condition they were in but Nina seemed to have set a difference.
"Being happy isn't just about money" Nina had later said to her. It's about being with the right people that love you dearly. As long as you're being loved, you should be happy enough."
Emily was beginning to regret her previous actions including to her mom and Nina. She got to understand to understand to be contended with what she had and show gratitude.
She decided it ws high time she turned a new leaf.

She waited outside for her mother to return home and the moment she did, she embraced her.
"Mum" she started ruefully. "I'm so sorry for everything that's happened. I'm sorry for being so carefree towards you. I promise to change".
Mrs Caroline was surprised and couldn't believe a miracle had befell her daughter.
***
Nina awoke from her forever nap and noticed it was already dark.
She dallied to the sitting room and met her dad watching a movie with Denise.
"Good evening, dad.
"Hi, miss Denise" she greeted them both and Denise smiled at her.
"How're you Nina? You were sleeping so tight when I came in. Are you okay?" Declan replied and asked, opening his briefcase.
"Yes, dad. I'm okay. Just needed some rest."
He searched his briefcase for a short time and brought out a card, giving it to Nina.
"Your wedding date's being fixed. It's coming up this Saturday" Declan said and Nina rose her brows at him.
"Th...this Saturday?".

They drove for about twenty minutes and finally stopped in front of the zoo.
They came out of the car and Theo went ahead to cut their tickets.
"Hold on, Theo. Is this the surprise you were talking about? Trying to feed me to the animals?" Nina asked by the time he yad returned with the tickets.
"If I really wanted to feed you to the animals, I'd bring a chain along".
He held her hand and took her into the zoo. People kept stealing glances at them.
"Wow! He's so cute" Nina overhead a lady saying to another and she hissed.
"What's wrong? Why re you hissing?" Theo asked, a little surprised.
"I just don't like the animals here" Nina replied .
They got to the ostrich's cage and it opened its beautiful colorful feathers, shying away from the crowd that drew near.
"Wow! It's adorable" exclaimed some people in the crowd.
Nina opened her mouth in amusement and quickly brought out her phone.
"Come on, Theo. Give us a shot. Hurry up before it closes it's feathers." She said in jubilee as she handed her phone to Theo and stood properly in front of the cage.
"Do you want people to think you own the cage?" Theo asked and took the shot.
Next, they went to the monkey's cage and watched as it jumped around.
'"I think it's smiling at me Nina" Theo said as he took a picture of it.
"Yes. He's smiling at you because you both look alike." She replied and waved at the monkey and theo laughed.
They got to the chameleon cage and it changed into the color of Nina's shirt- blue.
"Oh, my God! Does it mean it can't see me?" She asked with bemusement.
"Well, maybe".
People drew close and it kept changing it's colors.
"Isn't it adorable?" Theo asked ad he took a picture of it.
"Yes, it is. I wish it could change to a teddy as well" she replied .
"Uhm... I think I need some ice cream." Theo cut in, trying to turn a deaf ear to what she said.
They got to the ice cream kiosk and he bought two for both of them.
***
Theo drove the car and stopped in front of her apartment and unlocked the car door for her.
"So, hope you had a nice time?" He asked.
"Perhaps" she replied and tried getting out of the car but he held her back.
"Don't forget you're cooking for me tomorrow. And by the way, I made a quick look at Spanish dishes while at the zoo and I think I king of picked interest in something like...Salmorejo. what do you think?"
"Well, what do you think I should think?"She asked blatantly and theo laughed.
"Hope you can get the ingredients? Or would you need me to order them for you?"
"Do you think I'm that dumb not to know what I need?"
"Chill Nina. I'm only trying to make sure they'd be no excuses, okay?"
"Whatever. I'm outta here" Nina replied and left the car in a huff.
"Have a nice time" Theo said after her but she didn't stop to look at him as she just waked into the house.
She got in, her face got covered up in smiles as she remembered the day's incident with Theo. He had really made her day, but of course, she couldn't let him know him about it.
She was walking into the sitting room when she met Denise there, drinking and lazing.
She tried ignoring her by just walking away but was drawn back by whet she said.
"Didn't Becky ever teach you a little quantity of respect?"
Nina stopped on her way to the stairs and turned back to look at her.
"Did you just call my mum by her name?" She asked with a seething look and Denise smiled.
"Is she too big for that? Besides, I don't see her around. So, what's the needs for the hypocritical respect?"
"Take a look around" Nina said and waved her hand around the room. "Her pictures are everywhere. Every single thing brings her memory back. Daddy loves her a lot because she's occupied our hearts. And I don't think there's any more space left for rent . so isn't it obvious daddy's only trying to use you for a distraction?"
Denise stood up and laughed hard.
"You're so funny, Nina" she paused and laughed again.
"Well, you're right. He must be using me for a distraction. But, it's definitely a positive distraction. I'm already sharing his bed Wi him, feeling the space your mother once occupied. In a few months, I'm gonna become his Mrs and also your stepmum and that only means I moved from being a distraction to his lifetime partner. So, what do you think about that dummy?"
Nina scrowled her eyes at her and grinned. She Ws so furious and would willingly punch Denise in the face of given an opportunity to.
"Let's see how it goes afterall." She said incensely and walked away in anger.
***
The next day.
Nina was walking tho and fro in the kitchen, restlessly with her phone in her hand.
She looked at the Salmorejo ingredients arranged on the table and went through the page on her phone again.
"Okay, tomatoes, extra Virgin oil, baggrette," she paused and sighed.
"Come on, Nina. You can do it"
She walked tho and fro again for a moment and leaned on the kitchen table.
She was beginning to have regrets about the whole cooking stuff, especially when Theo was on his way.
She wished she didn't have to do such thing and had earlier rejected the idea from Theo. But, pride wouldn't let her and she had gotten involved in a twist she couldn't disentangle herself from.
The truth is, she wasn't a good cook, not at all. And she had no idea how she'd prove to Theo she was a perfect chef.
"Maybe, I should tell him I'm ill" she thought but quickly waved it off.
"No. He might find out I'm lying".
She paused and tapped yer foot for a while.
"Maybe, I should postpone it?
"No. He's definitely going to laugh at me.".
She sighed pathetically and went through her phone again.
"Okay. Soak bread for 30 minutes, puree tomatoes, onion, sherry vinegar, lemon juice, and garlic. The mixture will turn slightly orange. Sprinkle with chopped eggs and ham and drizzle with olive oil"
She was still talking when a maid came in and interrupted.
"Sorry, ma'am Nina. But, sir Theo's here to see you. He's in the sitting room."
Nina felt her heart giving a leap at the hearing of his name.
"Uhm...O...kay. tell him I'll be with him shortly" she stuttered and the maid nodded and left.
She went through the recipe again and sighed, placing her hand on her chest.
"You can do it Nina. You can do it" she repeated nervously and finally walked out if the room, heading to the sitting room.

She sauntered into the sitting room, thinking of every possible means to hide her nervousity and getting there, she met him talking With Denise who looked fully dressed up.
Immediately she noticed her, she winked at her and turned back to Theo. ."once more, nice meeting you Theo" she said with a soft smile and left the house.
Nina watched angrily as she left before walking up to meet Theo.
"Is that the stepmum you told me about?" Theo asked, still glancing at the door. "She seems nice to me".
"Of course, she should. What do you expect from a hypocrite?" Nina replied with a loathing look.
"What were you talking about, anyway?" She asked and theo shrugged.
"Don't really know. So wats up?"
"As you can see, I'm still in one piece."
"Of course. So, shall we proceed?"
Nina hesitated.
"Precede to where?" She possumed
"The kitchen, of course"
"You...you want to follow me to the kitchen?"
"Yes. I want to be sure it's been prepared by you and not a maid.
"That's gibberish. Besides, mummy told me it's wrong for a guy to be in the kitchen with a lady while sheds cooking."
Theo laughed hysterically at this and Nina almost got upset.
"What a nice cooking tip. Anyway I don't believe that. So, let's go".
Nina gave a hard stare at him and replied: "Fine; let's go".

HER BETROTHED
Episode 18

Theo was walking with his friends along the facade of the school building when he sighted Nina coming out of her ride.
He quickly ran and hid behind a corner, telling his friends not to say a word about him.
Nina came out of her car and mĺet MOL standing alone- without Theo. She knew that was unusual and budged forward to meet them.
"Hi Nina"
"Hello, pretty"
"Hey, damsel."
They all greeted chorusly and piquantly.
"Hi" Nina replied immediately and adjusted the textbooks in her hands.
"Where's Theo?" she asked as she furrowed her brows in suspicion.
"Theo? Has Theo been in school?" Lancelot asked, turning to the others.
"Don't be so dumb, lancelot. Of course he was in school. He just had to rush home due to an unexpected running stomach." Owen chipped in.
"Yes, yes, Owen is totally right. You know, we tried convincing him to make use of the school restroom but he just wouldn't listen"
"Yeah. That stubborn dude. You should know he's very stubborn, right?"
Nina looked at them one after the other and scoffed.
"So, Theo's presently not in school?" She asked.
"Yes, yes. But don't worry, we'll be sure to him bring him to you the moment he gets back." Miles added.
Nina stared at them again and nodded.
"Okay, then. I guess I'd have to see him later."
"Absolutely! Perfect".
And Nina walked away, brushing pass a corner.
Immediately she left, Theo came out of his hiding place and sighed with laughter.
"Theo what the hell did you do wrong?"
"Why are you running away from Nina?"
"I'm definitely sure he did something".
"Chill guys. It's a long story."
Before he could say any other thing, Nina returned and held him before he'd run away.
"Did you really think you could hide from me?" She asked as she tweaked his ear. .
"Theo, when did you get back from home? I thought you were gonna stay longer?" Miles asked with a serious look.
"Uhm...maybe you should catch up with us, Theo. We'll be praying in the library" Owen said and started walking away with miles and Lancelot.
"Who prays in the library, Owen?" Lancelot asked and busted into laughter with the rest.
"I think you should be given an award as the best friends ever!" Theo said after them and Nina tweaked his ear even harder.
"Ouch!" He shrieked. "Nina, I...I can explain".
"Since 2 am, I've been thinking of the right punishment to serve you. I almost decided to feed your skin to the dogs, but I changed my mind and decided to pluck out your eyes and feed them to a teddy" she said with relishment and Theo managed to free his ear from her grasp.
"Do you have plans of feeding my ears to the teddy as well?" He asked with a grim look and touched his ear.
"Look, Nina, I'm really sorry. It's not like I was trying to pokenose into your privacy or something. I...I just wanted to know if you had any problems so I could be of help".
"What stupid help? As what? Mu dad?"
"Please, don't get it twisted, okay? I didn't mean any harm".
"Your apologies ate worthless, Theo. You were trucking me and made me look lie a fool".
Theo sighed and touched his forehead Wi his palm.
"I'm really really sorry, Nina. I promise I'll make it up to you." He said apologetically.
"And how do you intend doing that? Do you think you can propitiate me enough?"
"Don't worry, I will. I promise.
"Sorry, I need to go. I need to join my friends for prayers in the library. Bye" he said hastily as he gave her a peck and ran off.
Nina looked at him quizzically and couldn't even say a word before he ran off.
"What a crazy jerk" she thought angrily and walked to the classroom.

On her way to the classroom, she ran into June who held series of books but looked careworn.
Unlike her, she was about walking away when Nina stopped her.
"Hey, June. Wats up?" Nina greeted buoyantly but didn't get a reply from her as she just kept staring at the floor.
"Are you in a hurry?" She asked but was replied by a brooding silence.
"Are you okay? Why don't we have lunch together?"
This time, she stared at her with rueful eyes and walked away.
Nina was confounded and perturbed by June's capricious sadness. She looked so sad and couldn't figure out why.
"Is it because she's missing Alvin?" She asked vainly and continued on her way to class, more slowly.
She got into the classroom and rook her usual seat next to Emily.
"Hey, little princess" Emily said in a giffy as Nina sat beside her.
"Watch your tongue, lady. I'm not little, okay?" Nina replied and both laughed.
Nina took a proper look at her and noticed she was holding an android phone. And she kind of looked different too- gorgeously different.
"You've gotten a phone?" She asked curiously.
"Oh, yes. Had to get one"
"Wow! Congrats"
Nina felt a little curious about Emily's phone. It looked quite expensive and she puzzled how she was able to get it.
She has actually intended getting her a new phone the next day but it seemed it wouldn't be necessary any more.

After receiving their morning classes, Nina and Emily decided to go for lunch. But just before they left the Class, a boy walked to them with a written note.
"Hi Nina, Theo asked me to deliver this" the boy said and ran off after giving the letter to Nina.
Nina went through it and in it was written:
"Meet me at the garden, alone".
She sighed and turned to Emily.
"Sorry, need to meet up with a jerk".
"A jerk? Is that his surname?" Emily asked and laughed.
"Tomorrow's been declared public holiday, right? Why don't we meet up?" Nina asked. "I've never been to your home before."
"Tomorrow? I think that'd be great. Maybe we should exchange contacts" Emily suggested and they both did a quick exchange.
"Okay, then. See you later" Nina replied and left.

She walked into the school garden and found a round table in the middle with two chairs set opposite each other.
She admired the arrangement bit felt a little surprised not seeing Theo there.
She walked forward to the table and sipped from one of the drinks that were kept there.
"Did you really call me here to play more tricks on me?" She asked audibly and theo came out from a corner, faking a shy face.
"I just wanted to be sure you weren't with weapon" he said and smiled.
"Please, have a seat".
"Of course, I will. You don't expect me to remain standing all day, do you?" She replied and took a seat while theo did same.
She looked at the table and noticed some covered plates on it.
"So, is this your own way of trying to please me? By making me have brunch close to grasses?" Nina asked as she nibbled at a few blueberries that were kept on the table.
"How on earth is this grass, Nina? Can't you tell the difference between flowers and grasses anymore?" Theo asked but got no reply as she continued picking at the blueberries
He opened the plates on the table and Nina's eyes dimmed at the sight of it.
Although she tried to hide her amusement.
"What are these?" She asked, giving a horrific look at them.
"These are french food- flemish carbonade- specially prepared by me." He replied as he dished them into two separate plates.
"Did you say blemish carbonade? Are you trying to blame me for something?" Nina asked.
"Goodness, Nina! I said flemish, not blemish, okay?"
"Whatever. They kind of sound alike. And did you just say it was specially prepared by you? How am I sure you're not trying to turn me into a teddy?"
"I have a feeling my nickname's gonna become teddy."
Nina glared at him and they began eating.
She tasted it and found it really delectable.
"Are you sure you made this?" She asked suspiciously and theo smiled sardonically.
"Of course Nina. I'm a great chef and I'm pretty sure I'm better than you. Trust me . You're no match"
"Excuse me" Nina interpolated with food in her mouth. "Did you just insult me?"
"Insult? I don't think I heard something like that".
"Look, if you'd ever have an opportunity to taste my food, it's gonna blow you up and make you beg for more."
"Oh! Are you serious? Wow! Why don't we fix a date, then? Let's fix a date for Theo to beg for more of Nina's exquisite meal".
Nina remained silent.
"Nina, what do you think?" He asked again and Nina rose her brows at him.
"I'm always ready" she replied.
"Perfect! Let's make it tomorrow, then. 12 pm. Your apartment. Deal?" He asked energetically and Nina replied "deal" rolling her eyes at him.
Theo shook his head and smiled.
"Anyway, don't think you've been able to appease me with all these crazy drama going on cause I'm only getting angrier". Nina said.
"Seriously?" Theo paused and sighed. "Fine. Come with me".
"And where do you think you're taking me?"
"Fret not, okay? I have no plans of selling you out." He replied and took her hand, taking her out of the garden.
He took her to the gate and made a little obfuscated conversation with the security and after that, they gained access out of the school building.
They got outside and met a man standing next to a red flashy car and Theo collected the car keys from him.
"Hold on Theo. What're you doing?" Nina asked when she saw Theo taking the drivers seat while he flung open the front door for her.
"Come on Nina. Get in" Theo replied impatiently and she sluggishly and walked in.
He inserted the car keys and turned on the ignition and slowly, started off at a dizzying speed.
"This was given to me by my dad on the day I returned from France" Theo said almost bumptiously and Nina flinched.
"You own a car?" She asked grimly.
"Of course, I do. Do you think it's abnormal?"
"Well, it isn't my money so it should be none of my business. By the way, have you been to a driving school?".
"Nope. I learnt to drive from my uncle in France and whenever he wasn't at home, I'd take one of the cars and surf round the area".
"But do you really know how to drive?"
"Well, who's driving the car right now? Is it your ghost?"
"Hm. What a nice question from a guy who claims he's trying to please me" Nina said and theo chuckled.
"Fine. I'm sorry" he said rather perfunctorily.
"I think I can write a full book on the characteristics of I'm sorry" Nina said and made Theo laugh again.
"By the way," she continued harshly. "Where did you say you were taking me again?"
"Let's just say it's a surprise".
