Build a Niche Content Site to take your Business to a New Level

Whatโ€™s a niche content site, to begin with? A niche content site is a site that panders to a particular group of people. Like gardening is a niche; cooking is a niche; motor repair is a niche. Other people would not be interested in reading about these topics. But, people who are interested in these topics will surely throng your website and even come repeatedly to look for new information that you must put up all the time.

There can be a niche within a niche. Like, in gardening, there could be a sub-niche of how to do away with aphids or how to use the right mix of fertilizers to make those grapes bigger. These are sub niches. You must remember one thing hereโ€ฆ the narrower you are making your niche, the lesser is the number of people you are getting for your site, but at the same time, these people are more focused and they will be more interested in doing business with you.

Think about it. If someone really wants to have some information on aphid removal, they are not going to find too many sites on it. If your site has that content and also promotes some product relating to it, like an aphid spray, the likelihood of that visitor buying the product from your site is indeed high.

This is the way you need to go about it.
First, think of a popular niche that you would like to build a site on. You could go to places like Google Suggest (http://suggest.google.com/) and check out what many people are looking for.
Google Suggest will also give you a host of keywords that you can use. These are the keywords that people are popularly searching.
Build content. You will need to have at least 50 pages or so of content to make some kind of impact. Spruce up this content by using right keywords so that it reaches out to the people who are looking for the specific information.
Then, look for products on your affiliate network site to promote on your niche site. Refer to chapter 1 on how to become a member of an affiliate network site. You can put ads in the form of text and banners. By having your own site, you are saving money on advertising services such as Google AdWords. You have to popularize your site so that more people visit, which in turn will increase the number of clicks (and sales) that you get. At the same time, the popularity of your ads will increase the prospect of your website.

Unleashing the Untold Wealth of Affiliate Marketing

If anyone was asked to name a single method that marketers use to make a surefire rapid income on the Internet, then most of them would give you the same answer โ€“ โ€œaffiliate marketingโ€. Though there are dozens of home business models on the Internet, it is quite safe to say that affiliate marketing must rank within the top three, or maybe even at the top of the heap.

Basically, the affiliate marketing model means to promote someoneโ€™s product over the Internet. You are helping them with their advertising and are getting paid a commission for that.

You can start by making an account on an affiliate network such as the Hydra Network (http://www.hydranetwork.com/). This is a place where advertisers post their advertising requirements. When you are a part of this network, you can choose the products you want to promote. These are products of people within the network.

Once you are done with that, you will need an affiliate marketing service to promote the products you have chosen on the Internet. The best in this category is Google AdWords (http://adwords.google.com/). You merely have to start a campaign here, mentioning the product you want to promote and give the URL that you are advertising. AdWords will automatically search for the right website matches for the product and will advertise on them.

The payment is fantastic. You get paid for every click that your ad gets. This is known as Pay Per Click (PPC). However, there are some affiliate networking sites, such as the Hydra Network we have mentioned here, that pay only when a sale is done. In that case, it becomes a Pay Per Sale (PPS) affiliate service.

Starting a Business Without Cash

It is no secret that starting a business is not an easy thing. There are several things that you have to think about in order to start your own business. You need a business concept, a tight business plan, well thought out business strategies and marketing ideas, and most of all you need resources. Most of the time, capital and where to get it is the main concern of aspiring businessmen and businesswomen. If you want to start a business, you need to have the money to do it. Well, that used to be the case. These days you can start a business without cash involved. All you need are your skills, a positive attitude, and lots of hard work. If you want to start a business without cash, an online business may be the perfect business for you.

About online businesses

Online businesses are now the rage everywhere. People have discovered the perks and benefits of using the internet and technology to start a business and get it going. Businesses and organizations have also discovered the advantages of conducting, managing or running their business using online tools and workers. Companies now outsource a big chunk of their business functions or processes to virtual employees from all over the world. Work From Home jobs have increased since it became apparent to organizations and companies that utilizing online workers for some of their business activities is cost-efficient, reasonable, and effective in some ways.

The business of online services

In a way, the online workers or virtual employees mentioned above can be considered online businessmen and businesswomen. Their business involves selling their skills and offering their professional services to employers that are looking to outsource business functions. This kind of business--that is, becoming an online worker--is a no-cash investment. Anybody with a computer and access to the internet can start their own online working arrangement. It would be even better if you have the skills or qualifications that companies are looking for.

These days, companies are hiring virtual employees left and right for business activities such as administrative assistance, data entry, customer service, public relations, sales and marketing, editing and copy writing, research, technical writing, web development and design, and graphic design. Companies and businesses are also hiring online workers for business services such as accounting, human resources, payroll, legal consultancy and information management. People who wish to do freelance work can offer their skills and experience in any business function and they can be sure that there are organizations looking for their skills and expertise.

Joining the online workforce

Becoming an online freelancer is practically a zero capital business. You don't have to shell out anything in order to become one. Of course, like any typical business, it is also not an easy thing to start and run. You also have to do your own planning and strategising, so to speak. You need to know what you can do and what you can offer and plan out your working strategy. You also need to research and read up on freelancing or working from home before diving in. Like any business, you also have to work on getting customers or clients. If you have the skills and expertise and the right attitude, you can definitely develop this kind of business for yourself.

One of the first things you have to do is to make that decision to become a freelancer or offer your services online. You first have to assess what you can offer to employers. Are you a Human Resource specialist or a purchasing specialist? Are you a legal assistant? Are you a writer? Are you a graphic designer? Are you good at clerical and administrative tasks? You have to know your skills and what you can offer because this is basically what your online work will be.

The next thing to do is to assess or figure out how much time you can allot or spare for online work. If you still have a regular day job, you have to figure out when exactly you can squeeze in your online work. Are you prepared to do the work a couple of hours at night? Can you do it during lunch breaks? If you're a stay-at-home mom, you have to figure out your availability to work in between managing the household and taking care of the kids. The amount of time you can spare for online work will affect how much work you can take. Time management is vital. Any mismanagement can turn to delayed submissions of output and negative feedback from employers. These things will affect your online portfolio. It's important to think about these things even before you start any kind of freelance work.

Another thing that's key to success in the online work business is attitude. You definitely need the right attitude and mentality to do this. Your own success depends on you so having the right attitude to this kind of work is important if you want to do this full-time in the long run.

Once you have decided to embark on this online business, you can create your resume or portfolio online. There are several freelance sites and job marketplaces that you can check out. Popular sites include oDesk, eLance, and Freelancer. These are just some of the online job marketplaces that you can access to apply for online work.

How to Start an Online Business
With the state of the economy, the unemployment rate, and folks worried about job security and layoffs, many people are considering starting an online business for extra income or even a career change.

Most importantly some basic marketing and computer/tech fundamentals for starters. There are many free resources and tutorials available on the web to shorten your learning curve and allow you get your online business out of the starting blocks.

I have a couple of suggestions regarding what you might want to consider when starting your online business. Since most of us don't have a lot of money to spare we'll try to focus on free or inexpensive strategies and techniques that are not difficult to implement and can be started immediately.

The first thing you have to decide is what product or service you want to sell and market. At this point we won't have are own product so that means we are going to have to sell for someone else. We are going to become an "affiliate"and we will be paid a commission for each sale we make. I suggest you start out selling digital products (ebooks and software) with ClickBank. They are the largest online seller with tens of thousands of products to choose from, and most commissions are from 50 to 75%. Go to the ClickBank site and sign up for an affiliate account-it's free. You will receive a username or ID and this will be in your affiliate link for any product you promote, it is also used to keep track of your sales.Go to ClickBank marketplace and pick a category, and then look through that category to find a product to promote.

Once you have chosen a product and received your affiliate link you will need to promote it. Again since your just starting your online business we will be focusing on free marketing ideas. Some avenues you might consider are blogs, articles, online classifieds, forums, and social networks. You will want to provide some good content or a review about the product you are promoting and place your affiliate link or URL in the appropriate or designated spot at each place. Some of these resources have specific guidelines about affiliates or linking straight to an affiliate page or site. Make sure you read the terms and conditions for each one.

These are a few ideas for starting an online business easily with no costs, and are really just the tip of the iceberg. You'll want to get your own domain name and hosting as soon as you can. This will give you more options and the ability to start building a list by promoting the affiliate offer through your site or page. One of the most important things to do now is keep educating yourself and learning new skills

Do you need Creativity to start Your Business?
When asked, 99 out of 100, people said that creativity was a fundamental factor for someone to be a successful entrepreneur. Unfortunately, these same people said that it was their lack of creativity that was the main reason that they are not entrepreneurs.

Those of you who want to be an entrepreneur but have been waiting to be struck by a creative lightning bolt, don't wait any longer. If you are waiting for this great idea to come along, then get over it. If this great idea hasn't come along yet, then it probably never will. So, are you going to keep that from fulfilling your dream of becoming an entrepreneur? You will never achieve your goal if you define entrepreneurship incorrectly. Creativity does not need to be part of it. Remove creativity from the mix and your goal of starting a business, any business, can become a reality and not just a thought.

The thought of doing something that no one has done is very exciting. However, there are just a few individuals that come up with an original idea. So, if you decide to move forward in your venture you will probably come to the realization that most business owners do, and that is that the tried and true business opportunities will work just fine for you too. The important part is to get started and quite honestly, that will be the hardest thing that you will do in business. The cool part about your new business venture is that the bank does not care if your deposits come from something exciting and new or if they come from something tried and true. Frankly, after the money begins to come in, neither will you.

Your friends, the Bank, and more importantly your customers, wonโ€™t care where you got your idea. Your friends will not be less impressed because you are not the person to think up the idea of a restaurant. However, they will be jealous that you are fulfilling your dream and they are not.

Simple: copy, borrow, or emulate someone elseโ€™s idea or, to be more politically correct, and to decrease the chances of a lawsuit, letโ€™s say improve someone elseโ€™s idea. The point is the same, new ideas are rare.

Have you ever said, "I could run this place a lot better than our management?" A friend of mine recently left his job as the COO of a real estate coaching firm and is now contracting his services to them instead of being an employee. The difference is, he is also doing the same services for other clients and it has increased his income by a power of 3.

Is my friend creative? No, he is performing a service that many others could offer and by the way, his employees don't care as long as they get paid.
It may be that you are not interested in your old job. Then jump on your computer and do a Google search for the "top 50 business ideas" or "top new business that can be started without cash." Google is a great place to look for hot topics in the startup business world. However, research is the key to your success. Don't get caught up in the get rich quick scams. Look for stories of successful entrepreneurs and emulate what they are doing.

Creativity is a valuable tool in your tool box for success. However, it is not the key ingredient needed to get started in business. Be bold, be strong and take the leap of faith. You will not regret it.

A great business plan is the best way to start a business. It prepares the entrepreneur for the many obstacles and avenues that may come up and be utilised. A great business plan will pave the way for funding my means of bank loans and investors and will outline everything from the business name to promotional marketing, market share to the sales strategy. A great business plan is like having your own personal guidebook to success, expanding on the avenues for growth and highlighting ways to avoid failure.

To ensure your business plan is effective, take these tips on how to tailor this useful document to your individual needs.

1) The Industry

When you start out on this important document, you should begin with outlining the industry that you plan to run your business in.

Define what the company will do. If it's a shop, what will it sell and how is it relevant to the industry? If it's a service, then how will your service benefit the industry?

Have a clear idea of exactly what products or services you plan to sell. If you want to open a shop, then find out why your stock will sell well, how it fills a gap in the industry or why it is unique? If it's a service, then ensure you understand every aspect of the service and what education or training it might require.

2) The Market

In your new business venture, who will your customer be?

Do your research to discover the details of the demographic you plan to sell to. Knowing your customer means you can tailor your business to service them effectively and market your product or service to their needs.

DO you know the scope and size of your target market? Is it a mass market or a niche market? Are there trends in the market and if so what are they? How will you capitalise on these trends?

Who is the competition? What other brands, products or services are out there competing for the attention of your target market? What do you expect your share of this market is? How will you capture this share of the market?

What marketing and strategies will you employ to capture your share of the market?

3) Operation

This is the nitty gritty part of the plan now. Where are you planning on locating your business and why? What facilities will you need and can you afford?

What will your staffing requirements be? What will your sales strategy be?

This part is where you define exactly you might need to achieve your business plan.

4) Management

If your business will require staff, then you will need to put a management plan into place. A management plan will define the organisation in terms of the hierarchy of the employees; who is the boss, and who reports to whom?

Will your business require a company strategy of owners, shareholders, directors and committees? IF so how will you decide on these roles and who will you choose?

What benefits, incentives and rewards will you employ to get the most out of your staff in terms of productivity and loyalty?

5) Finance

Here is the fulcrum that you plan rests on. This part of the plan will outline how you plan to source funds for start up, how to generate income and how to manage cash flow.

Will your income be steady all year round or will you have periods of high and low financial activity?

Will you have enough income to employ promotional marketing strategies and if so, what will the budget be?

When drafting a business plan, it's important to get a clear perspective of it from start to end. In many cases, people have tried drafting their own proposals, though have found that certain areas lacked substance or needed more research. In some cases, the client simply didn't have enough time to complete the proposal. Hiring a consultant for the same can certainly be a smart choice, as long as you know how to hire the right one. The truth is that the market seems almost flooded with consultants, all of them offering the "perfect" proposal for your business needs. Before hiring a consultant, it's important to pay close attention to your plan and what it needs.

The Bigger Picture!

Before hiring someone to draft your business proposal, it's important to understand all the ramifications involved. While you may hire someone to handle your proposal, bear in mind that you are the one who is ultimately responsible for the business. You can't just simply leave the work onto a professional and let him handle it. It's imperative that you understand everything that goes into the proposal and its significance. Getting someone else to draft the proposal still means that you need to be on top of things during the drafting process and know how things are shaping up.

It's also important to consider the things that you need to do after the proposal is drafted. In many cases, consultants simply deliver the proposal and you'll never hear from them again. It's advisable to work with consultants who offer some kind of post-proposal aid and take the effort to work with you at each step. Many consultancy companies will offer live assistance as well as 24-hour customer care to ensure that clients know exactly what's the progress of their proposal.

Building a Bond!

It's also important to remember that hiring someone to create your business plan is different from delegating other kinds of jobs. Even though you're not drafting the proposal yourself, you need to keep a keen eye on how the process goes. Make it a point to keep in touch with the consultant regularly. An active consultant will ask you a lot of questions that are necessary to make the proposal as focused as possible. A lender will be looking for some specific aspects and information when reviewing a proposal.

It's also best to be clear about the consultant's revision policy. In many cases, clients have to pay extra for revision work. It's best to work with a consultant who only charges a flat rate, which also includes the revision fee. A number of consultants will not only ensure that the proposal has everything it needs, they may even include a marketing plan for no extra charge. By working with the right kind of consultant and thinking long term about your business plan, you'll be able to create a proposal that is more likely to yield a positive result.

Writing a business plan, at a time when there are so many other things to do to get your business up and running, seems an incredible waste of time.
Yet everyone around us seems to demand that we do just that.
So why do it?

1: To test your business idea.

Answer the key questions.

Is there really a market there?

Can you deliver? What staff will you need?

How will your clients find you?

Where will you buy your stock? How will you fund the purchases

How long will it take for revenue to come through? Can you live while you wait?

It is always cheaper to answer these questions before you start.

2 To give your new business the best possible chance of success.

Reduce the risk

Time spent working the process thinking through and writing your business plan will make for a smoother take off and avoid unforeseen problems at your actual start-up.

When you have something in writing you can try it out on people who have the experience and knowledge of starting their own businesses.

The planning process forces you to look carefully at your operational and financial objectives as well as the nitty-gritty details of your new business.

3 To secure bank loans or attract Investors.

Find the money.
You're will probably need both operating and start-up capital to start your business but you won't get it from your banks or investors without a business plan.

A well thought out and argued plan establish you as a credible 'risk' and establishes how much you will need and for how long?

Remember that even if you don't need start-up funding when your business takes off you will need funds to expand.

Investors and banks will want to see your original business plan and how your business worked out in reality.

4 To Manage your on-going business

Take control.

As your business goes through its growing pains you need to know how well you are doing.

Money goes out and hopefully money comes in, but is everything under control? Are there unforeseen costs coming up; latent defects in your business processes?

Can you sleep at night, confident that though times are tough everything that can be controlled is being controlled?

5 To prove yourself to yourself

Assure yourself

That you are not just an entrepreneur, but a truly competent entrepreneur.

That, as far as is practicable you have your business under control
