Last week, we delivered this EFCC SCUML certificate to a client who runs a real estate company.

If you are into real estate, automobile sales, hotel and hospitality, law/accounting/audit firm, betting business, clearing and forwarding, construction/engineering companies, consulting firms, church, association, foundation, sale of jewelries and luxury goods, precious stones and metals, estate surveyors and valuers, Supermarkets, Tax Consultants etc., then you must get a SCUML certificate.

SCUML stands for 'SPECIAL CONTROL UNIT AGAINST MONEY LAUNDERING' and its a Certificate that shows that a business is complaint with EFCC's anti-money laundering act. The purpose is to ensure that corporate/accounts are not used to launder money and finance terrorism.

So any business that falls within the aforelisted must obtain this EFCC SCUML certificate as a requirement to open a business/corporate account in any commercial bank.

Without this certificate, you can't open or run a business account in any bank if your businesses falls within the above-listed businesses.

Today, we delivered FIRS TIN/VAT letter to a client.

Every business owner is expected to do a TIN/VAT registration for his/her business/company within 6 months after the business/company is registered/incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Failure to do this attracts a Late Returns Penalty (LRP)

Ensure your business/company is compliant with the government relevant tax laws!

We also processed LIRS Electronic Tax Clearance Certificate Card for a business name owner.
