SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT :
IN DEFENSE OF SEUN ANIKULAPO KUTI’S STERLING ACCOMPLISHMENTS
OluSeun Anikulapo Kuti, the last child of His Ancestral Magnitude, Olufela Anikulapo Kuti, is a grossly underestimated and underrated treasure in the Nigerian society for reasons that beats logic when we consider the fact that he basically sings for the political interest of a country with a population that is mostly peopled by some of the most oppressed of the earth.
Born on January 11,1983 in this great city of Lagos and on the very “ morning ” that heralded our great country’s 2nd term into 2nd time in her return to democracy experiment , Seun’s spirit is said to be so strong that it refused his body to arrive this world under the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo.
I once jokingly told him that it was cleary the ancestors signaling the arrival of The People’s future "General".
Before I go on, let me quickly state unequivocally that; If it pleases the creator of the universe, as I do think that it does, the citizens of this country shall realize and eventually respect the sacrifices of Seun Kuti in due season.
In this write up, I will attempt to cover 4 areas of the life of this man that, like his grand mother and father, were grossly misunderstood , vilified but later deified as a he**in and a hero respectively.

1. MUSIC
Seun, true to his ancestral calling of having been born into a family of musicians that has the very many firsts , chose very early out of his precious volition, to become a musician when he approached his father saying he wanted to play.
