On Friday, April 10, 2026, the Artemis II Orion capsule is expected to reenter Earth’s atmosphere at approximately 23,840 miles per hour, nearly 24,000 mph.

The high-speed reentry is scheduled to begin at 7:53 PM EDT, with splashdown expected just 14 minutes later at 8:07 PM EDT in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego.

To protect the four astronauts from temperatures of up to 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit during reentry, NASA adjusted the spacecraft’s trajectory to a steeper angle. This approach is designed to better manage the extreme heat and pressure placed on the heat shield as Orion descends back to Earth.

This return will mark the successful conclusion of a historic and record-breaking mission that carried humanity farther into space than ever before.

🚨 BREAKING:

Artemis II is now officially on its way back to Earth after successfully completing its flyby of the Moon.

This marks the beginning of the final phase of the mission, as the crew wraps up a historic 10-day journey covering about 685,000 miles, or 1.1 million kilometers.

During the mission, the astronauts traveled as far as 252,756 miles from Earth, going farther into space than any human crew in history. That milestone makes Artemis II one of the most significant human spaceflight missions ever undertaken.

The lunar flyby was a major part of the mission, giving NASA the opportunity to test Orion’s systems, navigation, communication, and overall performance in deep space before future missions attempt a lunar landing.

Now that the Moon is behind them, the crew’s attention shifts fully to the return trip, re-entry preparations, and a safe splashdown back on Earth. Their journey is not just a flight around the Moon, but an important step in NASA’s broader plan to return humans to the lunar surface and prepare for future missions beyond.

The long-awaited moment has finally arrived. Artemis II has reached the Moon and is set to begin its lunar flyby, a phase expected to last approximately six hours.

For the crew aboard Orion, the Moon will appear about the size of a basketball held at arm’s length as the spacecraft passes roughly 6,400 to 9,700 kilometers above the lunar surface.

They will also become the first humans to observe, with the naked eye, portions of the Moon’s far side. The side that always faces away from Earth.

Just a quick one...

I need to let you know this important thing...

Don't wait for a special day to show love to your partner.
Love doesn’t need a reason.
It doesn’t need a date on the calendar.
It just needs presence.

A small gesture.
A kind word.
Today is already enough.
The best moments aren’t scheduled.

They happen in ordinary time.
A message.
A touch.
A little extra care.
That’s how love stays alive.
