Late Friday Henshaw Edeke was born on May 1, 1957, in Urue-Offong, Akwa Ibom State, into a family that instilled strong values of hard work, discipline, and service to the community. His early life was shaped by these values, which he carried throughout his remarkable journey in life.
Education
Friday Henshaw Edeke began his formal education at Central Primary School, Oyubia, Oron, where he laid a solid foundation for his academic pursuits. He proceeded to Government Trade Centre, where he acquired technical skills that would later define his professional career. His thirst for knowledge and technical expertise led him to the Nigerian Navy Technical Centre, where he obtained the Leading Mechanic Qualifying Certificate and the Petty Officer (PO) Control Electrical Engineering Certificate.
Career in the Nigerian Navy
Driven by a passion for service and patriotism, Friday Henshaw Edeke enlisted in the Nigerian Navy in 1980.Over the years, he served his nation with dedication and loyalty, contributing to the country's naval operations and technical advancements. His commitment to excellence earned him respect among his peers and superiors. After 20 years of meritorious service, he retired as a Warrant Officer (WO) from the Navy in 2000, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and professionalism.
Political and Community Leadership
Beyond his military career, Late Friday Henshaw Edeke made significant strides in politics and community development. He was a dedicated member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), where he served as the Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Igando PDP for four years. His leadership extended beyond his immediate community as he became a leader of PDP Ward F Alimisho General and Leader of Non-Indigenes, advocating for inclusivity and equal representation in governance.
