30/12/2023
If there's anything 2023 taught me, it's never to say it is over until the final whistle is blown, never leave the pitch if it isn't full time, and never write off the script if you haven't seen the end. Twelve months make a year, not nine months, not eleven and a half; twelve months do.
I remember stating "one word for me in 2023 is discernment" at the beginning of the year on my Instagram page and one thing we may likely forget is that consciousness of timing or lack of it plays a big part with discerning.
The discernment we receive/observe/ignore is tied to our consciousness of timing or lack of it. Imagine, an Angel of the Lord appeared to Peter in a vision to eat but he said NO! Peter sees an anomaly and uncleanliness while the Lord sees acceptance/fellowship.
This scriptural account of Apostle Peter's scenerio may not always be a general rule of thumb based on (your faith and peculiarity) timing/conscious positioning in Christ especially if you still dread hearing someone ate in their dream. (Story for another day).
Beyond the presents, who is the giver?
In contrast, imagine after Jesus had fasted for 40days & 40 nights, the first account on record was Satan appearing to the Son of Man, asking him to turn stone to bread so he may break his fast.
Logically, one could term this as compassion from Satan, but hey, it was wrapped with temptation. Yes, I agree it was laced with supporting scriptures, but how can we forget it was presented by the grandmaster of lies on three different attempts!
However, Jesus prevailed with discernment because he could see-through the fabric of "compassion" which abhors/hates/rejects truth and life, an offer of deceit at its peak.
I ask again, beyond the presents, ask yourself, who is the giver?
Say yes to discernment but never close your eyes to ignore the spiritual giver.
So, may the lens of our discernment be continually illuminated by God's fellowship with precision in the coming year.
In all, (y)our discernment should bring us to a place of total acceptance (YES) or a place of unashamed resistance (NO).
Thank you for 2023. 🎉🎉
See you in 2024. ✌🏾✌🏾
I am rooting for you. 🥇
