If you don't pressure-test plumbing pipework before plastering, tiling, or covering it, hidden problems can remain undetected and become expensive to fix later.

5 major problems when you don't testrun

1. Hidden leaks 💧
A joint may be leaking slowly without showing immediately.

2. Water damage to walls/floors
Once covered, a small leak can cause dampness, peeling paint, damaged plaster, or wet floors.

3. Low water pressure
A leaking joint or damaged pipe can reduce the pressure reaching showers, WCs, taps, etc.

4. Burst pipes after finishing
A weak joint or damaged section may fail when the system is put under normal operating pressure.

5. Expensive rework 💰
If the problem is discovered after tiling or plastering, you may have to break the wall or floor to locate and repair it.

Test the pipework before covering it. If it fails, locate and repair the problem first, then retest until the system holds pressure.
