The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has confirmed that the locally produced Indomie Instant Noodles in Nigeria are safe for consumption, contrary to reports of a ban.
The Director-General, Prof Mrs Mojisola Adeyeye, stated that NAFDAC has registered several local manufacturers, including Indomie, and their products have been certified safe for consumption.
The assurance came after misleading reports circulated online that Indomie Instant Noodles was banned due to the alleged detection of a cancer-causing substance in the Taiwan and Malaysian markets.
The Group Corporate Communications and Event Manager of the manufacturers of Indomie Instant Noodles in Nigeria, Dufil Prima Foods Limited, Tope Ashiwaju, also emphasized their commitment to adhering to international manufacturing standards and using only the finest ingredients to ensure quality and safety
