Have you ever found yourself halfway through a workday and you say to yourself "have I done anything important today?"
You see, the single most precious asset you have in your life is time. But how well do you manage your time?

Here's how you can use your time every day to make yourself more productive.

1. The 80/20 Rule
Ask yourself, is this task, project, or meeting, etc absolutely important to the level that it is strategic to what you're trying to accomplish? Or is this just work that has to be done?
Identify the top 20% and stay with those. Delegate or discard the rest. But if you must engage with the 80% never spend more than 50% of your time with them.

2. Eliminate Chaos
Create some order around you and the things you need to get done.
I recommend you make a list of what needs to be done, when they need to be done and what resources you need to get them done.
Prioritize based on #1 point.

3. Protect Your Time
Learn to preserve the integrity of your time. When you set time aside to perform a task, don't let other things or people encroach on your time.
As a result you must learn to say NO sometimes.

4. Communicate Your Availability
Do you give people the impression that you are always available and that it's ok to always walk up to you and interrupt what you are doing?
Be more proactive about managing your time. Let people know how open or not you are to being interrupted.
Broadcast your availability. Communicate your availability.
