My adventure to Kupa Kingdom in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State. Kupa South & North are naturally endow with abundant mineral resources such as fertile land, Gold & Salt etc. I heard that some illegal miners do mine Gold & Diamond at Gungurugi village of Kupa South. Why! Because we've not been viewing deep to tap the untapped resources of our State. Their major occupation are farming, fishing & hunting, there are four roads leading to the town; 1st- Kabba Bunu/Ayeitoro Road, 2nd- Kwara/ Kpategi road, 3rd- Niger/Kacha road, 4th- Jamata road. The major challenges they faced there is bad roads, some villages uses Camels, Donkeys, Boats & Motorcycles to convey their goods to motor-able areas & this made the communities to transport their Agricultural Produce to neighboring States such as Niger or Kwara State which are nearer to them. Villages in Kupa South are: Abugi, Guchidan, Balangan, Mikugi, Awumi-Maza, Awumi- Agbabun, Gungurugi (Gold and Diamond Settlement), Karagi, Eban, Evazhi, Gbebu, Fikaragi, Kayinko (Hon. Aliyu; Lokoja Local Government Council Chairman's village), Ramba, Yaro, Sampi, Para, Kpoku, Ellagi, Ellagan, Ekan, Kuraragi, Egundun, Edeku, Dankunzhi, kochi, kuchalu, Amige, Ekpachi, Ellanza, Eyinkara.
While Kupa North villages are: Mami, Mabo, Ebbe, Miza, Danbo, Bataku, Tsanawa, Ebuchizhi, Kokochi, Ebwa, Ebwa - Egunaba, Ebwa - Eganchibiri, Ebwa - pegeta, Ebwaku, Appo, Agini, Agini - Agunpo, Angbapu, Kumi, Giri, Gbeduma, Ekapu, Ebuzhi (late Speaker's village), Najogun, Kabugi, Lantasara, Lagan, Kpata - Lagan, Kpagun, Zakanti. I salute Alhaji Ibrahim Idris for constructing two bridges there. Kogi State Government and Private Sectors should transparently Partner, to ensure that these roads are constructed for the resources of Kupa's to be properly tapped and transported to the appropriate channels, so that the state facet of Socio-economic can be improve for the benefit of our people of Kogi State. Although it is a very big task, but as Agent of change, we will definitely make a different; it starts with you. To be my Colleagues in the race; just take a bold step, we will get there! This is my adventure of treasury discovery in Kupa Kingdom.
