XPeace Associates participated in a two-day Training on Disability Inclusive Protection, Safe Referrals, and Confidentiality, aimed at strengthening knowledge and capacity for inclusive and protective community engagement.

The training organized by Centre for Social Cohesion, Peace and Empowerment provided valuable insights through interactive discussions, group work, and practical scenarios, enhancing our understanding of disability inclusion, the distinction between impairments and barriers, and the importance of safe, confidential, and survivor-centered referral pathways.

As partners in sustainability, we are committed to stepping down the knowledge gained to our staff and communities, while promoting inclusive practices and strengthening safe referral systems to ensure that everyone, especially the most vulnerable, can access support and services with dignity and respect.

XPeace Associates was part of the interactive engagement session with representatives of ActionAid Denmark alongside other youth leaders and community-based organizations (CBOs).

The session has provided an opportunity to share some of our success stories from projects implemented in partnership with ActionAid Nigeria, particularly around the HDP Nexus approach, the domestication of the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda under UNSCR 2250 in Borno State, and other community-based peacebuilding initiatives.

It was a highly engaging and insightful session where participants openly discussed achievements, implementation challenges, lessons learned, and key recommendations for strengthening future interventions and ensuring greater sustainability and local ownership.

We also appreciate the continued efforts of ActionAid Nigeria and ActionAid Denmark in building the capacity of young people, empowering grassroots organizations, and equipping youth with the skills and opportunities needed to drive peacebuilding, resilience, and sustainable development within their communities.

The engagement further reinforced the importance of investing in locally led initiatives and youth-driven solutions in advancing peace and social cohesion.

Yesterday, XPeace Associates, as Co-Chair of the Borno State Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Action Plan domestication process alongside the Ministry of Information and Internal Security, participated in the Borno State Youth, Peace and Security Validation Workshop. The workshop brought together government stakeholders, development partners, security actors, and young people to collectively review and validate the Borno State YPS Action Plan.

The validation workshop provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, group discussions, and stakeholder contributions aimed at strengthening the action plan to better reflect the realities, priorities, and aspirations of young people in Borno State. Participants shared recommendations, identified critical gaps, and discussed practical pathways for effective implementation and ownership of the action plan.

We were also honoured by the goodwill messages delivered by key stakeholders and partners, which reaffirmed the shared commitment to advancing youth inclusion, peacebuilding, and collaborative action for sustainable peace and security in Borno State.

As a youth-led organization, XPeace Associates is pleased to continue leading this domestication process in partnership with ActionAid Nigeria and Plan International, ensuring that young people remain at the center of peace and security efforts; not only as beneficiaries, but as active partners and leaders in building lasting peace.
