Hon. Ageraga B Igbatim
Candidate for Logo State House of Assembly 2027.

Dear good and resilient people of Logo Local Government,
With deep humility, gratitude, and a strong sense of responsibility, I hereby declare my intention to contest for the position of Member representing Logo in the State House of Assembly in the 2027 elections.

This decision is not driven by personal ambition alone, but by my desire to serve, to represent your voices, and to contribute meaningfully to the development and progress of our beloved Logo land.

Our people are hardworking, resilient, and full of potential, yet we continue to face challenges such as insecurity, unemployment, poor infrastructure, and limited opportunities for our youths and women. I believe the time has come for responsive leadership that listens, represents, and delivers.

If given the mandate, I commit myself to transparent, accountable, and people-centered representation.

A Generation Denied Peace: Leadership Failure in Benue and Plateau

Generations of children in Plateau State and Benue State are coming of age without ever seeing the world at peace. For decades, cycles of violence have left villages devastated, families broken, and communities traumatized. Children born into these crises carry the scars of insecurity before they even have the chance to dream of a future.

This is not just a humanitarian tragedy it is a failure of leadership. The recurring bloodbaths in these states expose a system where political priorities are often detached from the welfare of citizens. Security agencies, local governments, and state authorities have repeatedly failed to implement sustainable strategies to prevent clashes between farmers and herders, or to protect communities from armed attacks.

The cost of this failure is enormous. Children growing up amid such unrest risk developing distrust, fear, and resentment, which threatens the social fabric of these states. Schools are unsafe, economic opportunities are limited, and normal childhood experiences education, play, and growth are replaced with survival in a landscape of violence.

Leadership in both Benue and Plateau must stop treating these crises as political talking points or short-term emergencies. The cycle of violence will continue until decisive action is taken: enforcing law and order, promoting dialogue between conflicting communities, and investing in long-term security and development initiatives.

If the authorities continue to neglect their responsibility, they are not only condemning a generation of children to trauma but are also ensuring that waves of violence will continue to shape the future of these states. Leadership must rise above politics and prioritize the safety, education, and well-being of the most vulnerable our children.

I was told by my parents that I was born on December 31st, a day that marks both an ending and a beginning. As I mark my birthday today, I return all thanks to God for life, preservation, and grace. Through every year, He has been faithful. I pray that as I step into a new season, God will grant me wisdom, peace, and strength to walk in His will and fulfil His purpose for my life. Amen.

Police announce recruitment of constables, specialists

The Police Service Commission in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force has invited interested and eligible Nigerians to apply for positions as constables within the force.

This announcement was in a bulletin signed by the chairman, the Police Recruitment Board and posted on the official X handle of the Nigeria Police Force on Friday, October 13.

The online application portal will be accessible for six weeks, from October 15th to November 26th, 2023., the bulletin reads.
�
Prospective applicants are required to complete the online application forms and submit them within the specified timeframe, with the portal open to both male and female candidates. Applicants must be aged between 18 and 25, meet specific medical, physical, and psychological fitness criteria, and attain a height of not less than 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females.

Requirements for the online application process include Nigerian birth origin, possession of the National Identification Number, and a minimum of five credits in not more than two sittings, consisting of either WAEC/NECO or equivalent qualifications with credits in English and mathematics.
