*Effectiveness: The Business Asset with Inevitable Harvest*
Effectiveness is a cornerstone of productivity and guarantees lasting results. Simply defined, effectiveness is *“doing the right things”* - aligning with ethical values and core principles.
Effectiveness, integrity, and righteousness share the same DNA: they are both rooted in the discipline of doing what is right. So, effectiveness is practising integrity and righteousness.
In business, as in personal life, failure to do what is right is a catalyst for loss.
We often face immense pressure to compromise, and if we succumb to _“doing the wrong things”_ , we position our lives and enterprises on dangerous terrain.
Doing the right things is part of our fundamental Christian responsibilities. In encouraging the brethren, the Apostle Paul said:
*“And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up.”* (Galatians 6:9 TLB).
A business person can get tired pursuing effectiveness, especially when competitors have learnt shortcuts to earn “ superficial results”. Weariness sets in when the right process yields no immediate harvests.
The solution is endurance. The promised harvest of blessing is inevitable for those who persist. Conversely, getting tired of focusing on effectiveness results in discouragement and giving up - the very position that invites business failure.
A *“harvest of blessing”* is comprehensive, beyond money, and encompassing productivity, growth, profitability, longevity, generational legacy, influence, and peace from the consequences of shortcuts.
It is imperative that christians in the workplaces persistently sow the seed of righteousness (doing the right things) within their operational fields.
Effectiveness is not just about your bottom line, but about your spiritual alignment.
