Many years ago, as a young boy, I was shocked to learn that as early as 17 or 18, someone could be enlisted into the Army to fight for their country.

Imagine the weight of that responsibility at such a young age.


No wonder, some of the military leaders we had in Nigeria during the 1990s were still in their early 30s when they took over the reins of power.
