Amaka my dear friend, as you are about to start your business, I have timely advice for you.

1. Don't hang banners
2. Don't brand your shop
3. Don't print flyers.
4. Don’t pay for Facebook sponsored ADs
5. Don't even go to the radio station for jingle
6. Do not engage in any form of advertisement or marketing without securing your business name first.

It is not wise to do so, because you’ll be putting your business name at risk.

Now take note of this.
When it comes to cac registration, it is first come, first serve. So the first person to register the business name is the legal owner of the name.

Now when you engage in marketing and advertising without duly registering your business name, you expose it to the public and anyone can just decide to register it.

The aim of marketing and advising is for exposure, but exposure without CAC registration is dangerous. I tell you the honest truth, you do not want to imagine what will happen if someone else registers that name before you.

Mr. Ikenna, who likes enjoyment and easy life so much, gets a beautiful lady pregnant.

Prior to the pregnancy, he promised her the world and now after 5 children he has refused to take even a bottle of coke to see the parents of his supposed wife.

Now this seventy years old man is looking for where to borrow money but nobody wants to help him 😒😏.

He didn't pay his wife's bride price, he also refused to send his daughters to school, now he has no right whatsoever 😂

Tales of a cac registration expert.

So since last August I’ve been advising Mr. Nonso to get his business registered and he has been continuously telling me that he has no money.

In February, I was passing by his shop and I saw correct banners in front of the shop. He even made Direction banners.

HMM.. PERSON WEY SAY HIM NO GET MONEY.🤔

Three weeks ago, I was listening to 93.1 FM and I heard them playing Mr. Nonso’s jingle, announcing his unregistered business name, the location of his business and the services he renders.😮

I was happy for him. But again, he told me that he does not have money for it and that he wants to put some things in place first.

I said okay, and I pretended to understand even though i didn’t. Because basically, I can’t understand the reason why someone who has👇

1. 25k to pay for a jingle,
2. 5k to pay for 2 minutes on air in a radio station,
3. 30k to pay for a roll-up banner.
4. 5k each for small direction banners of which he made 3.
5. 1k per day for facebook sponsored AD. and he paid for 30 days.

All of this approximately costs N105,000, but he tells me that he does not have 25k to secure the business name that is boldly written on all his adverts.

I said okay because I didn't want to bother him, make him no come dey feel as if na me go benefit pass for him business registration 🤣.

Long story short. Just this morning Mr. Nonso called me to help him register his business. After conducting a thorough name search I found out that someone else has legally registered a business name that is 98% similar to Mr. Nonso's business and for that reason I know for a fact that CAC will reject our application. All that money, wasted. Because he will have to come up with a new name for his business.

If you are running a partnership business and your business is not registered, then You are putting yourself and your business in danger.
