In shadows deep, where darkness breeds,
Lurks the hunger, insatiable greed.
A beast within, consuming all,
Its appetite, a bottomless thrall.
It craves for more, with every breath,
Ignoring conscience, heedless of death.
Driven by desire, it knows no bounds,
Leaving barren lands, without a sound.
Yet in its grasp, there's no delight,
Only emptiness, devouring light.
For greed, a master, but a cruel one,
Leads to ruin, when all is said and done.
So let us guard against its sway,
And cherish what we have today.
For in the embrace of humble need,
True richness lies, in word and deed.
