If I had to start again as a baker, one thing I would do differently is how I approach learning.
I would invest more in advanced classes early, not just learning the basics, but building strong, standout skills from the beginning. Because the truth is, learning never really stops in this business. There’s always a new technique, a new design, a new way to improve.
However, I’ve also come to understand the importance of financial balance. As much as growth matters, it’s important to invest in learning at the right time and within what you can afford. You don’t want to keep spending on classes while your business is struggling to stay afloat.
I’ve learned that there are seasons in this journey. There are times to focus on building your income and stabilizing your business, and there are times to go all in on learning and upgrading your skills.
And I know for sure that in my journey, there will be seasons where I’ll travel, explore, and learn from different places around the world, especially in this line of business where creativity and exposure make all the difference.
It’s all about balance: grow your skills, grow your income, and understand when to focus on each.
Come and patronise your girl.
