The Ikenga Mall Project Story – Strength Through Steel and Determination
When Dera Metal Transformation Concept Services (DMCTS) was commissioned to execute the Laser-Cut Metal Screen Project at Ikenga Mall, Awka, we knew it would be one of our most demanding undertakings yet — both in scope and precision.
From the very first day on site, we were determined to deliver a result that would reflect not just metalwork, but artistry and craftsmanship. What we didn’t anticipate were the series of challenges that would test our endurance, commitment, and creativity.
The weather was unforgiving.
There were days when heavy rainfall slowed down installation, making transportation of materials difficult and site work nearly impossible. At other times, the scorching sun and intense heat pushed our team to their limits — yet no one gave up.
We faced material shortages midway, realizing that the initial estimates could not cover the expanded scope and detailing required. Procuring additional laser plates, pipes, anchor bolts, and fuel in the face of market inflation was tough. Still, our team pressed on, even when suppliers demanded urgent payments and delivery schedules became tight.
The pressure was intense, but so was our resolve.
We worked seven days a week, often staying late into the night to meet deadlines. Through teamwork, innovation, and sheer will, every challenge was turned into progress.
Despite financial delays, weather constraints, and logistic hurdles, Dera Metal Transformation Concept Services successfully completed 100% of the project — delivering a remarkable structure that now stands as a proud statement of skill, dedication, and resilience at Ikenga Mall, Awka.
The experience strengthened our belief that great results are born from great persistence.
And though the process was tough, the result was worth every drop of effort, every long night, and every bead of sweat shed in pursuit of excellence.
