Last year, I had the opportunity to shoot a TV commercial for a brand, and looking back, it reminded me of something important:
A good commercial is not about the camera.
It’s about the story the brand is trying to tell.
Brand storytelling is where strategy meets emotion.
It’s understanding who the brand is speaking to, what they believe in, and why they exist beyond selling a product.
Before the lights come on and the camera rolls, the real work is already happening: – What problem does this brand solve?
– What feeling should the audience walk away with?
– What truth about the brand must be communicated in seconds?
As filmmakers and creatives, our job is to translate that identity into images, pacing, sound, and moments that feel honest, not forced.
Because when storytelling is done right,
people don’t just remember the ad,
they remember the brand.
Grateful for the brands that trust us to tell their stories, not just shoot content.
