Dwight 'DJ' Grant was 18 years old — a senior at Miramar High School in Florida, weeks away from graduation — when a classmate used the promise of a romantic encounter to lure him into a trap that had been planned six days in advance.
On October 17th, 2021, Christie Parisien called DJ and brought him to a stairwell near Sherman Circle North in Miramar. Waiting inside, dressed in black: Andre Clements and Jaslyn Smith. Clements had spent nearly a week sending text messages that detectives later pulled from phones and presented to a grand jury — messages that said 'Murder will definitely happen soon. It'll be bloody.'
His motive? DJ had been with a girl Clements had feelings for. That was enough.
Inside that stairwell, Clements told DJ: 'You know who I am and why I am here. You know I have to kill you now.' He stabbed DJ in the neck with a knife. Then drove a sword into his chest.
