Ladies, being a career woman isn't bad and being a stay-at-home wife/mom isn't bad either, especially in this digital age when anyone can work from home. In fact, these days, some remote jobs are far more lucrative than some in-office jobs.

Personally, I would never pursue a career that would make me an absent wife and mom. For me, family comes first. However, career is also important. That's why you should marry someone who understands that both are important, and is willing to support you both at home and in your career.

That being said, having an understanding and supportive husband doesn't mean it's okay to become inconsiderate and choose to focus too much on your career to the detriment of your family and marriage. That would create a problem. To ensure balance, you need to apply the golden mean rule.

A golden mean is the middle way between two extreme states; excess and deficiency. Moderation is always the right approach to a meaningful and well-rounded life.

The United Kingdom (UK) government has announced an increase in the application fees for visas, residency and citizenship processes from April 8, 2026, with the hike affecting Africans and other foreign nationals seeking to visit, study, work or settle in the country.

The UK government had earlier imposed an ‘emergency brake’ on visas for nationals from four countries following a surge in asylum claims after entering the country through legal routes.

A statement shared on the official website of the UK Home Office, asylum applications by students from Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar and Sudan took a sharp increase by over 470% between 2021 and 2025, making them among the most likely nationalities to claim.

In an unprecedented step, the Home Office said it will end sponsored study visas from all four countries and skilled worker visas for Afghan nationals.

However, in a new development, a revised fee published on the official website of the UK Home Office and cited by TVC News on Thursday, shows increases across virtually all categories of visa applications made both inside and outside the UK, with affected categories spanning visit visas, student visas, work visas, settlement applications and naturalisation fees.

Nigerians remain one of the largest sources of visa applicants to the UK, with hundreds of thousands migrating to the UK through the student and work visas window. Below is the full list of UK visa and immigration fees relevant to Africans.

02/10/2025

I once had a friend who made new friends, then started doing drμgs, keeping late nights and dating multiple men at once. I was no longer comfortable with the friendship but didn't have the courage to break it off. One day, she ended our friendship because I refused to join her in her new lifestyle. When someone asked her why we were no longer friends, she said "she's somehow". When asked what she meant, she said "she's just weird, boring, always saying she doesn't do this and that. We're different so we can't remain friends." She was right.

The point is not everyone should be your friend. Friendship should be between people whose values and principles align, otherwise one person would change the other. That change could be positive or negative but the negative influence is always stronger. Very few people have the ability to resist a negative influence. She couldn't influence me and I couldn't influence her so we were bound to separate. Even the bible says in Amos 3:3, "Can two people walk together unless they've agreed?" The answer is No!

There are some of you who've changed drastically over the years due to the negative influence of your friends, there are some of you who've lost friends because you refused to become who they are and there are some of you who have relatives, colleagues, neighbors who don't like you not because you are bad but because you're responsible and the mere sight of you reminds them that they're not living right.

Granted, living right is subjective but to know whether or not a lifestyle is good for you, take a look at the advantages and disadvantages, then see which weighs more. If something has two advantages and ten disadvantages, then it's bad for you regardless of its two advantages. It's even worse when it has no advantage. For instance, what are the advantages of doing drμgs? If you know any, please tell me in the comments section. What are the advantages of s£xual immorality? Can someone tell me?

Anything that's not good for you is not for you and when someone who's not good for you leaves your life, it's not a loss but a gain. If you don't have the courage to leave the wrong friends, at least be glad when they leave you.

Lastly, your friend's friends shouldn't become your friends unless they meet your friendship criteria. Avoid inherited friendships.

Although wealth and material possessions are important, values, good relationships, and positive contributions in the lives of others, remain the best legacy for our children. Practice sowing good seeds when you're alive.

That kind of legacy transcends times, seasons, circumstances and environment, and the quality of a person's life becomes a factor of whose descendant they are. That's why Christians proudly call themselves "the seed of Abraham", affirming the fact that the Abrahamic blessing is their hereditary possession. That also explains why some families carefully choose the families and tribes their children marry from.

It's important to pass down such a good legacy to your children because unless the upcoming generations sow huge amounts of bad seeds that outnumber the good seeds sown by their predecessors, such a legacy never loses its influence.

𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗦

Success happens when you have no job, yet wake up in the morning, get ready to go out to pursue opportunities, and members of your own household say to you, "you're still going to waste money, time and energy, then come back without results. Is this not Nigeria? Please relax and save that money for food" but you reply to them saying, "without a sure source, having a meal will only be an occasional moment in a persistent atmosphere of lack, hence it's better to skip some meals today, to consolidate a future of self-sufficiency and abundance."

Success happens when you have a small retail store, go there, sit there from morning till night without making any sales, yet go there again the next day, and the next day, and the next day, believing that you will eventually be noticed and for that to happen, the store needs to be open.

Success happens when you walk into a hall as a motivational speaker, expecting to meet a full hall but meet an empty hall instead, yet stand there and speak to the empty seats as though you were speaking to many people, say everything you went there to say to your listeners, and do that with the same passion you would've normally displayed if the hall was full.

Success happens when you start a business expecting your friends to support and patronize you but lose their friendship instead, yet carry on without bearing any grudges, believing that you have a target audience out there that needs what you sell and will patronize you, then do whatever it takes to reach them.

Success happens when you create a business page on social media, spend money on ads without good results, post content and get no likes, no buyers, yet keep posting because a failed attempt is better than no attempt and success thrives in persistence and consistency.

Success happens when you apply for jobs and don't get any, then try a business and fail, yet instead of giving up like people advise and become a burden to your family, choose to have faith and restrategize, having the conviction that those failures are experiences and that's how one gains mastery in life.

Success doesn't come by desire alone, it is earned. That's why you must add to your desire; determination, faith, courage and resilience. When you surrender to failure, success will never come knocking at your door.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚

Marriage counseling is good and it works. There are many testimonials around the world but always remember that prevention is better than cure. Don't neglect your health because you know a very good doctor you believe will cure you when you take ill because no matter how good a doctor is, they can't cure HIV/AIDS.

When getting married, don't overlook the foundation which is WHO YOU MARRY. Your experience in marriage will depend on two fundamental things; who you are and who your spouse is. That's where it all starts. When someone marries the wrong person, counseling may not work no matter the counselor they consult with. Why?

Marriage counseling doesn't make the wrong person to become the right one. It only makes it easier to be with the right person and makes the right person better. Why does it take marrying the right person for marriage counseling to work? It's because the wrong spouse is like an incurable disease; medicines only help keep it under control and the moment you run out of medicine and are not able to see your doctor on time, your survival becomes dependent on a miracle.

A lady came to me for relationship counseling last year. During counseling, I discovered that she and her boyfriend were worlds apart; in fact day and night. I advised her not to marry him but she insisted even though their relationship was full of drama. Many things weren't right. She insisted and because I was against it, she didn't inform me when they were getting married. After marriage, bigger troubles started. She came to me every week for counseling and I kept doing my best to put the situation under control. Then I went on leave and switched off my work line so she couldn't reach me. I was away for 3 weeks and by the time I returned, the marriage was in ruins. It was so bad that her neighbours had to call the police. Her parents wrote the guy off, she herself finally realised that she shouldn't have married him. All this happened in just 3 weeks while I was away.

Counseling is like a food supplement. A food supplement complements your diet, it's not meant to be a substitute for your diet.

𝟰 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗𝗡'𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘

1) Start a business without consulting a business coach. A business coach can be a successful business owner in your family or community or any successful business owner you know but a professional business coach is best because they don't know you from Adam so have nothing against you and need you to succeed because your success is good for their career. Failing in business is something I don't wish for anyone. It can completely shatter your hopes and leave you incapacitated so it's important to do everything you can to minimize the risk of failing.

2) Get married without getting a marriage counselor. A marriage counselor could be your mother or any married person in your family or community you look up to. Just make sure they're worthy to talk to and learn from because marriage is beautiful but the most beautiful things in the world are the most attacked. You need someone to hold your hand and guide you through it. You need someone to encourage and motivate you from time to time because you will need it.

3) Become a Christian without a spiritual father. You need a father or mother of faith in your Christian walk, someone whose life and lifestyle inspires you to walk with God because the Christian life is full of temptations and persecutions. You need someone that will constantly motivate and remind you of who you are so you don't become overwhelmed and drift from the faith.

4) Holding a grudge and harbouring h@te for someone or people who hurt you. Always remember that no misfortune means your end and every disappointment is an opportunity for a new appointment. That's why I always say not every failed relationship should lead to heartbreak because some breakups are breakthroughs and should be celebrated. This explains why Jesus Christ prayed to God concerning his crucifiers in Luke 23:34 "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." In other words, father forgive them for they have no idea this crucifixion is only helping me fulfill my purpose on earth – REDEMPTION. The bitterness is your real enemy. It's the burden holding back from releasing your greatest potential.
