I was sitting in church yesterday when they announced that the ministry needed more marriage counselors.
That is people to sit with intending couples for months before the wedding, guide them, ask the hard questions, prepare them for a life together, some of us know the details.
So I remember thinking, that's such a good structure.
And then the second thought came right behind it, quieter.
But where is that same structure for money?
There's a whole system built to prepare you for marriage.
Counseling sessions. Mentors.
Hard conversations about compatibility and communication, months in advance, before you say I do.
But the same church that will not let you marry without counseling will let you start a business, take a loan, or sign up for a "kingdom investment" with absolutely no guidance at all.
We have marriage counselors.
Why don't we have wealth counselors?
Someone assigned to sit with the young man who wants to start a transport business, or the young woman about to launch her boutique, and ask the same kind of hard questions the marriage counselor asks.
Have you counted the cost? Do you understand what you're entering? Who is guiding you when it gets hard?
Nobody sowed a seed and became prepared for wealth by accident.
Wealth preparation is a system. The church already knows how to build one. It just never pointed that system to the church.
Infact the church is one of the largest if not the largest financial power house in the world. When you're talking about a system of wealth building, the church uses it but for themselves.
If your church or fellowship has a marriage counseling structure, message a pastor or leader today and ask directly why there isn't an equivalent for business or financial guidance. Just plant the question.
On your own try to find one person in your fellowship who already runs a stable business or manages money well. Ask them, plainly, to mentor you the way a marriage counselor would not once, but as an ongoing thing.
If you're in a position of influence in your church community, propose a wealth counseling or business mentorship structure the way marriage counseling already exists. Someone has to be the first to ask for it.
