The National Action Committee on AfCFTA (NAC-AfCFTA) was established in 2019 to proffer viable strategies for the implementation of AfCFTA. The committee consists of Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), the organized private sector, academics, and representatives of the civil society. The committee’s mandate is to coordinate all AfCFTA readiness interventions, monitoring the implementation of the Agreement as well as working towards its ratification. The Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), established in 1888, is the foremost Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria and West Africa. LCCI is the recognized voice of the organized private sector with a corporate membership size of over 2,500. The Chamber contributes as much as 60 percent to aggregate industrial activities in Nigeria, with a mandate to promote the interests of members and the broader business community through policy advocacy and impactful stakeholder engagement.
NAC-AfCFTA in collaboration with LCCI intends to prepare and onboard 1,000,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) onto e-commerce platforms over a 2-year period. The scope of the pilot phase will include onboarding of 10,000 MSMEs across clusters in Lagos, Kano, and Abia States. The project will focus on growing trade in the fast-moving consumer goods segments, with emphasis on Textile & Garment, Leather and Light.
Job Description:
1. Responsible for leads generation & acquisition of high-value sellers in target segments to join and start selling on ecommerce platforms.
2. Collaborate with Technical Partners to provide ongoing support, identifying and implementing new avenues for seller acquisition to grow the platform.
3. Consistently meet target KPIs, generate and analyse data, create presentations and updates.
4. Responsible for managing relationships with sellers after acquisition including supporting the onboarding and support process, for these sellers.
5. Drive seller adoption of new tools and capabilities to improve performance.
6. Interface with technical partners post training to track and improve seller performance on product quality, ready to ship, lead time and stock management etc.
7. Provide market insights from the seller perspective, including understanding products, sellers, market & competitor dynamics.
8. Support the development of the ecosystem of vendors as may be directed.
Requirements:
1. At least a bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution.
2. 3+ years of work experience in marketing or operations management in an eCommerce/b2c environment.
3. Strong understanding of ecommerce and interest in driving business improvements through team leadership, data-driven decision making, and end-to-end project management.
4. Experience in acquiring merchants for ecommerce startups, tech, fintech, or bank is an advantage.
5. Additional language aptitude in Hausa, Ibo, Yoruba.
6. Data-savvy; able to present & explain insights to stakeholders.
7. Strong problem solving, presentation & communication skills.
8. Be proactive and independent; requiring minimal supervision.
9. Experience using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), CRM software.
