Today after I return from church, I decided to went straight to Rumuokoro, a popular and busy junction in Port Harcourt, to check something out. As soon as I stepped out of the vehicle, one of these fulany’s kids, known for begging in the area, ran up to me and started dragging my clothes. I handed her the 200 naira I had in my hand, hoping it would help.
But then, her friend rushed over, demanding I give her some money too. I explained that I had given my change to her friend and suggested she ask her to share. Her response? "She won't share with me."
Still holding onto my clothes, I checked my pockets again but found no more change. So, I called the first girl back and asked her to split the money: 100 naira for each of them. She refused, shaking her head stubbornly.
I couldn’t help but think, "I shared my money with you, right?" But she was adamant. So, I did the only thing left to do—I took my money back from her, put it in my pocket, and walked away. They both just stood there, watching me leave.
If you can't share something freely given to you, well, I'm taking it back!
